So you think it will go over with the fans real good when he leaves to another team, plays well, and then we get to live with the fact that the reason he never played here was because Blake was here?

Right now watching the coaching and GM staff make decisions is like sitting back and getting kicked in the nuts repeatedly. You know it's coming, and you watch them make the same mistakes over, and over and over again. There is nothing worse than watching people not learn from mistakes and repeating the same mistake over and over and over again.

For Jerryd's sake I hope he gets a trade. I'd love to think that he'll eventually assume the starter's mantle from Blake and/or Miller, but I don't think he's really got much of a chance with Roy and Nate controlling the direction of this team. Brandon's ego seems to have grown too much, and Nate apparently thinks the only thing a point guard should do is shoot jump shots from the corner and cover opposing 1s (or 2s or 3s as the case may be, with all the switching this team does).

If Nate gets fired and say a guy like Rick Adelman was hired, he'd probably get his shot and flourish, or at least carve himself out a good sized role, but the author is right, J-Bay probably needs a new address.

Jerryd needs to escape McMillan asap.

Having a coach who refuses to develop him and with a GM with a massive man-crush on Steve Blake there is no way he's going to realize his potential in Portland.

    Free Bayless!

Miller will be gone soon, and Jerryd will be playing again.

Part of the reason Byron Scott was shipped from New Orleans was his refusal to play younger players. He was shipped, and now their young guys are tearing it up. It was just a few years ago that KP took over for Cheeks because of the same reason. Players will not mature unless you throw them out on the court. There are some players who are "ballers". They don't show anything special in practice, but when it comes to actual games, they come out and perform at another level. They just need the time to get out there and make something happen.

Makes me wonder what KP even traded for the him (draft rights) at the time. Plus, we still had Sergio. :dunno:

Jerryd will find his niche on this team. He may not be happy about his current role, but if he develops a reliable three pointer, he's a perfect fit next to Roy.

So we should totally disregard the fact that in 8 minutes of play per game, he is averaging 4.7 points and 1 assist. . Where Steve Blake is averaging 7.7 points and 4 assist in 28 minutes. So it brings up the question, what would Bayless be averaging if he was playing 28 minutes a game. What would we be giving up by having him play that time?

I know you can't really assume he would average these numbers, but if extrapolate out

    4.7 pts/8 minutes *28 minutes=16.45 points

    1 assist/8 minutes * 28 minutes= 3.5 assist.

Even ifyou cut those numbers down by half, he would still compare comparably to Blake. And that is a pretty big fudge factor to cut down the numbers by 50%.

The Blazers were losing just as often before as after. The only difference were any of the young players getting experience, or was Juan Dixon jackingup all the shots he wanted.
