In terms of a backup PG who is steady, I've always been a big fan of Kyle Lowry... I'd love to get him.

He's a real nice on-ball defender, his jumper is a little dodgy at times and he tends to look to score on drives, but he's somebody I wouldn't mind seeing in a Blazers uniform.

Phil needs to give Shannon Brown much more time. Shannon is the defensive stopper who can hit threes. His dunking skills are ridiculous, he's got potential.

He started Luke Walton over Trevor Ariza last year, Jax is slow to make these kind of adjustments. I love him and everything but he's too loyal.

Shannon Brown is this year's Smush Parker. Without Phil Jackson, he's nothing.

And yet he played Ariza when it counted, and Ariza developed under Jackson in a way he hadn't in other places (although Isiah Thomas, underrated judge of talent that he is, also saw something in Ariza). Walton is a better basketball player than Ariza, he's just a defensive liability. But I think Phil tends to care about the beauty of the triangle first, and Walton helps achieve that more.

But by all means, keep questioning the man who has ten rings.

Walton is not even a better offensive player, he's slow footed, has a mediocre jumpshot and is not a great finisher around the rim. I liked him coming off the bench in the playoffs and back in 06-07 when he was able to create more for himself.

Fisher is showing his age this season, he's given up 18 PER at his position whereas Shannon is the best defender at the 1. Brown is freakishly athletic and more productive on both sides of the ball.

All of that is true, but he's still better for the offense because of his amazing passing and his understanding of the triangle. Or at least he was. He seems to be breaking down even younger than his dad did.

You better hope Fisher can keep it together. Brown is still very unpolished. He's nice in the highlights but you'll need Fisher to win another title.

Yea he is...he's physical, contests shots well and is an absolute pest. Watch the Laker game tonight on TV and tell me Fisher isn't a good on ball defender.

I liked him a couple of years ago but he's not the same. Ariza is the more complete player.

Fisher was atrocious last year in the first three rounds of the playoffs. Sometimes Phil brings Sasha and Adam Morrison off the bench before Brown, that doesn't mean they should be ahead in the rotation.

Fisher is shooting 39.3% from the field, 31.8% from the three point line. He's extremely inefficient. Shannon Brown is way ahead of Fisher defensively as well.
Fisher is a physical player but he is slow laterally. Shannon is far better, Fish has been Smush level on defense this season (18 PER given up).

You're right. Clearly Phil is slipping. I think you need to petition to have him fired. Who needs that washed up old fart if he can't recognize brilliance when it's under his nose?

it isnt a mistake...Phils goal is never to win every single game in the reg season...it that was the case he would call more timeouts and tighten the rotation

he has purpose to his rotations

Phil's purpose is what then? Luke was our starter most of 08-09. Jax is just slow to react sometimes.

It is ok he doesn't have to be perfect, I love him as a coach. Shannon needs more development if anything.

If his defense didn't make my eyes bleed I'd probably go for it.

    Short list:
    Mario Chalmers
    Kyle Lowry
    and ...

    :dunno:
