I love how in a generally positive thread, you insist on finding somethign negative to post, even if it is unrelated to the topic of Miller starting.

Again we seem to go back and fourth but guessing we are pretty close to having the same view. I do think Jackson has clout. I don't think he is the kind of coach you just toss aside. And I don't think Nate has come close to proving himself an estblished NBA coach the way Phil has.

But if there was a feud between Kobe and Jackson, I do think it would be Jackson who would go. And I do think that star players have a lot of control in the NBA . . . and while I see the argment that Nate is not doing his job if he let's Roy dictate who starts, I think it is a lot more complex situation than simply saying it's the coaches respoonsibility who starts and it is all on him (as a coach in the public eye it is all on him, but in the lockerroom . .. got to keep your star happy)

Great, then don't post in the thread discussing our starting PG.

    Well, we're getting closer.

Miller, Roy, Rudy, Aldridge, Oden is better than:

Blake, Miller, Roy, Aldridge, Oden and:

Blake, Roy, Webster, Aldridge and Oden

Should we start a pool to guess that date when Nate finally, by randon chance, hits on the optimal (until Batum returns):

Miller, Roy, Webster, Aldridge, Oden starting line-up?

Normally, I'd pick the Cleveland game next Friday - because neither Roy, nor Rudy can come close to guarding LeBron - but that would make sense, which means it won't happen. So, I'll go with 12/17 against Phoenix.

Seriously, Martell plays SO much better as a starter than coming off the bench. The second unit needs Rudy's scoring and energy. Starting Rudy over Martell hurts both the starting and second units..

Yeah, I'll put a bet on that we'll never see that lineup, unless we're down to five healthy players and those are the only five left. Even then, Nate might go 'Hoosiers' style and go with four men on the floor.

That's a really good guess. We don't have anyone who can come close to matching LeBron, but Webster is at least not giving up as much height and strength as Roy or Rudy.

My hope is that we go at SF with the matchup of the night. Houston doesn't really have an overpowering SF, so we use Rudy. With Cleveland you go with Webster. New York, Rudy. Indiana, Webster.

Nate has never really switched starting lineups like that based on opponent, though, so who knows.

Guessing who starts at SF four games from now is as much a crapshoot as guessing who starts at PG four games from now.

There's a really, really good chance that Miller doesn't do well in his first stint as a starter so Nate ditches it and we're back to Blake. :(

I bet there's a really good chance Miller does do well in his first stint as the solo starting PG, and Nate still ditches it and we're back to "stable" Blake.

If Oden and LMA are both hurt, I'd say it's a tossup.

I am hopeful this helps the team turn the corner. Miller will help get Oden more looks. Rudy will help space the floor better and will move without the ball. Hopefully they put in some plays for Roy to play with Oden.

For the first time in many many years, the Blazer starting offense will have 5 men on the floor who are all a threat to score. 3 are perimeter threats for spacing. I am giddy!

I'm really hoping it works out with Rudy. I want to see him starting, but I don't see how he is going to defend small forwards.

He may not be the one defending them. They might switch on defense. I wouldn't be surprised if they put him on the PG and Miller on the SG, and Roy on the SF.
