Grizzlie Owner Calls Iverson Ridiculous

Memphis Grizzlies majority owner Michael Heisley is saying that Allen Iverson(notes) was never told that he would be the starting point guard when he went to play for Memphis, but that he would have the chance to compete for it, according to 3SOB.com.
Heisley also notes that coach Lionel Hampton told Iverson that he was concerned that he wouldn't be coachable and Iverson said he wouldn't be a problem at all and he would come out at the end of a game if the coach asked him to. He might not be happy about it, but he would do what the coach asked.

Iverson wouldn't work out for the team before signing a contract and then Heisley says, he showed up out of shape for camp and promptly tore his hamstring.

Once he was healthy and had a decent game, Iverson went right to the press to say he should be the starter, which Heisley found to be "ridiculous."

And we all know how it turned out after that. Looks like it should be a fun ride, Philadelphia 76ers fans.
