Kobe is amazing. I think the 2nd most exciting player to watch, and tied for 2nd best player in the NBA.

I used to dislike him, now I just respect the hell out of him. I just really like how he plays basketball. That is all there is to it.

But come on, he isn't on LeBron's level. Lets be real. LeBron is a beast. He may be more clutch and have accomplished more (even though LeBron has been to the finals and win the MVP before the age of 24), but I think LeBron is the better overall player (passing, rebounding, scoring, defense). I'm guessing the stats are on my side.

Kobe USED to be exciting. Now he shoots fadeway turnarounds. That's efficient, but not exciting. If you mean exciting because he hits game-winning buzzer-beaters, well, he shoots more than most people, so he'll get his share. But Devin Harris's was better, and so was Roy's (no bank).

Respect is not inconsistent with white-hot hatred. Trust me.

They are, and he is. The Lakers are a well-oiled machine. Pau Gasol is incredible - he may be the most efficient scorer in the NBA. He's surpassed Tim Duncan on offense and he's no slouch on defense. Meanwhile LeBron has a broken-down old Shaq and a never-not-broken-down Zydrunas Ilgauskas.

Nobody has the guts to say that was a lucky shot?

No disrespect to Kobe, he's the last guy in the NBA I want to go against in a situation like that. He hits more game winners than anybody since MJ.

But c'mon . . . a bank shot off one foot falling away? He made it and they won - good for him/them.

I hate the man so much, but can't deny how great of a player he is. One of the top 10 players of all time. That's what makes it so much sweeter to not see him be able to beat us at the RG.

This is a Blazers forum, I thought. I could give a shit. I saw my friend in Portland for breakfast and he flew back home to L.A. and was at this game along with another friend(his first NBA game). And again, I don't give a shit. WTF?

Kobe actually called it a lucky shot in the postgame interview.

I will kindly disagree here. Kobe's a better overall offensive player - his jumper is WAY better and more consistent, he's got a bevy of moves in the post, can get to the hoop at will, actually makes his FTs, and is a very, very good passer (something that gets overlooked). He's also a good defensive player...which LeBron is not. LeBron is just a highlight reel on defense, he's not a good man defender, he's just good at getting back and swatting a layup attempt on the break. Kobe can actually lock his man down (note what he and Artest did last night to Wade) and play good defense. He may not be as strong or as fast as LeBron, and you shouldn't expect him to be at 31, but he more than makes for that with court savvy and skill.

I have a couple cousins that live in Fairfield, Iowa. Was out there once for a Hawkeye game and visited them. Iowa is flat and cold, just like my 1st girlfriend!

I recommend to never come here. If she wants to visit relatives in Iowa, make her go alone. It's a waste of time here.

Ya, That is the town that some cult took over in the 90's right? Also, I just watched that Kobe shot 6 or 7 times, simply AMAZING! Wade missed a free-throw that would have sealed the deal too(Imagine that, a player missing free throws that cost his team the game and he is not a Blazer!) Great shot!

I have no idea, I was a kid in the early part of the '90s (born in '86), so if it happened then, I haven't a clue,

And it was a great shot...a bit of luck, but great nonetheless. And if Wade made that FT...they would have had a chance to win in OT. Sucks for them, I'll take 8 straight wins.
