Congrats. Subconsciously, I was hoping that you guys would keep losing, because an evil part of me loves watching sports teams suffer (I was rooting for the 'Phins to go 0-16 the year they went 1-15, I was also rooting for the Lions to go 0-16 last year, so I was happy they did).

the nets have brook lopez, devin harris, a lottery pick and cap room this summer= they will be a eastern conference powerhouse soon. all the knicks have is cap room.

The Knicks also have solid young talent as well.

But we also have to factor in the likelihood of someone wanting to play for the Nets over the Knicks. The Knicks have the New York effect and players like playing more for D'Antoni. So, though we might have the same amount of cap, our cap might be more valuable.

But turning into a powerhouse boils down to management and I trust Donnie Walsh more than I do Kiki.

The Knicks have a lot of caproom too. They're going to have enough money to get 2 premier FAs this upcoming summer. While I really like Harris and Lopez, I'll take Bosh and LeBron or Bosh and Wade or Amare' and LeBron over lottery pick, Harris and Lopez any day. Oh yea..the Knicks will also have a high lottery pick too, seeing as how they're abysmal. Yea...I'll take the Knicks situation over what you've got.

And you also assume Lopez turns into a dominant player. He's shown flashes, but he's nowhere near dominant at this point. He also has to stay in Jersey for you guys to do something, and there's no guarantee he'll do that either.

Unfortunately, our pick is unprotected and goes to Utah next year.

That's what I read in the Blazers forum. What genius move did Thomas make there?

I think Marbury to NY gave Phoenix NY's pick, and then Phoenix traded Tom Gugliotta to Utah along with the pick.

Finally, hopefully they build on it and start winning some games in the next few weeks.

I think the Nets are sitting pretty next year . . . they are in a much better position than the Knicks. Yet for some reason it seems like big time players would pick NY over NJ . . .

Why would they be in a much better position. As of now, the Nets have a 6.9 winning percentage and are on pace to be the worst team in NBA history. Couple that with the fact that the Izod Center (terrible arena) and Barclay's will never compare to the allure of MSG. Big time players being more likely to choose NY over NJ/BK is also another reason why the Knicks are in a better position.

I was thinking that the Nets have better foundationas players. Harris, Lopez and maybe Yi can be solid foundation. Throw into that a top 3 pick (I think the Knicks don't even have a draft pick) and they might be attactive to a big time plyaer.

But I agree NY has a better ability to bring in a big time player.

We will see next year, but I like where the nets are heading next year . . . provided they can use cap space to at least get one top player.
