Don't look now, but he has quietly strung together a couple of very solid games. Farmar is at his best when he's aggressive and attacking. When he's settling for jumpshots and chucking 3's, he's garbage. That being said, let's hope he can continue this type of play. Knowing his history, he always has good starts, and then his play falls off later on during the season. When Jordan plays well, the bench usually plays well. Keep attacking and being aggressive Jordan :O
I thought he played a great game the other night against Miami, just didn't feel like mentioning it. Not only was he aggressive, but he also pushed the break well when he needed to, and also made some good choices on the break in terms of where to go with the ball. Hopefully he can keep this up.
I think part of this is the shortening of the rotations with Pau back. Farmar has gotten more chance to play with the starters and Lamar than before, when he was trying to run the triangle with Powell and Sasha and Luke.
This is his contract year. i fully expect him to dupe some team into signing him next year and then dogging it.
I'd be really impressed if he keeps up this level of play for the rest of the year. Farmar starting off hot is not uncharted waters. He usually cools off after the allstar weekend before turning to complete shit later on in the season.
This. Hopefully the team learned from the Sasha Vujacic signing. They all thought he finally turned the corner during his contract year and he's regressed ever since.
Jordan Farmar is putting in 10.8 points a game in his last five on 56.7 percent shooting. Phil Jackson is playing him almost 20 minutes a game during that stretch because of his improved play. "He's playing better on the offensive end and on the defensive end," assistant coach Brian Shaw told the L.A. Times. "I think a lot of it is just a direct result of putting more effort into it. I'd still like to see him pick up the opposing team's point guards a little bit more consistently [on defense]." Farmar was a bit miffed when the Lakers didn't offer him a contract extension during the offseason. But he'll be a restricted free agent come the summer. If he continues to prove a valuable asset of the bench, he may get another contract with the Lakers instead of them letting him slide elsewhere.
He's better than Sasha, at least (if he's overpaid after this contract year) he can still guard the quick guards Fish can't. And we can use Brown at the 2 or 3.
