Yeah, so Avery Johnson wins it. He won by quite a bit. Here's the results:Avery Johnson, Dallas- 419 pointsMike D'Antoni, Phoenix- 247 Flip Saunders, Detroit- 223 Mike Dunleavy, L.A. Clippers- 88 Byron Scott, New Orleans/Okla. City- 57 Gregg Popovich, San Antonio- 25 Phil Jackson, L.A. Lakers- 13 Mike Brown, Cleveland- 9 Lawrence Frank, New Jersey- 8 Scott Skiles, Chicago- 8 Mike Fratello, Memphis- 7 Jerry Sloan, Utah- 6 Brian Hill, Orlando- 4 Bernie Bickerstaff, Charlotte- 1 George Karl, Denver- 1 I think he deserved it. He got a franchise low in holding opponents to an average of 93.1 points, I thoguht that was impressive. This guy's good. :worthy:
i was abpit to post this. I'm surprised Flip Saunders wasn't higher. He didn't even come in second. But AJ deserved this one.
Agreed, I thought Flip would get second, and finish higher than he did.Avery did deserve this, he got an offense only team into the top 10 in both catagories, and higher on the defensive side.
Congrats to Coach Johnson. His first full season with the team and while they keep losing key players (Nash, Finley), they continue to win and under his guidance have improved their defense greatly, sometihng that has been a weakness for some time..
I love Avery Johnson, he rips his players to the media and gets them to play harder. D'Antoni doesn't get the credit he deserves.
