I was driving home when it happened. Sorta' glad I didn't see it happen. Let's hope it's only a dislocated kneecap...
Yeah...I am nowhere near the type that cries after every loss and jumps ship after every little thing...But I'm in the water now and swimming back to shore. Fuck that boat. I don't even care about the rest of the season.
Props to the Houston trainer for running out to help whatever was needed for Greg before our guys came in. Damn this is so heartbreaking.
Well.. Nate does have a torn achilles to give him the benefit of the doubt. He's not going to be running out there.
Look how many people are injured on the team...cuts on peoples faces, knees, feet, backs, shoulders, coaches with torn shit now. fuck!
I'm betting just a dislocated kneecap. The way it occurred isn't really typical of ligamentous damage, although it's hard to tell. This would be way more like Bynum than Livingston though.
Isn't that the truth! God, I hate Mike Barrett and Mike Rice, chirping along like nothing happened and making their cute little jokes. Screw them.
I feel bad for Greg. Greg the person has overcome so many physical injuries, so much media crap being piled on him, carrying an entire city's hopes on his shoulders, and some tough emotional hits in his life that this is just one of the worst possible people for this to happen to. Oden deserves so much better than this and it makes me feel so much for him because he's worked so hard to make everyone happy and overcome everything that has happened to him. You'd think he get some fucking good karma from fate for handling everything that has been thrown at him so well.
So sad for Greg. The good news is that he didn't seem to be in much pain; so, maybe its just a minor dislocation. From the video, it doesn't seem like there was any contact or awkward movement. It looked like he just went straight up.
In all seriousness, I'm not here to start shit with you guys or anything. As a Lakers' fan, I know what its like seeing your big go down because of a knee injury like that. I hope he gets better real fast and it isn't anything serious. Good luck, guys.
That in itself is very worrisome. It tells me that Oden is very fragile, and probably not destined to be a professional basketball player for very long. The running and jumping is just too hard on his body.
Hopefully it just sort of slipped out of place. He obviously wasn't hit. I wonder how big the difference is. Bynum's last year looked gruesome.
I thought he might have had his kneecap contacted when I first saw it...can't find a replay where I can see it again, though...
From another thread. MRI result is fractured left patella. He'll undergo surgery and miss the rest of the season.
