What fans? I haven't heard much about it. I think a lot of fans would like to see Chuck back and maybe a lot of them would like to see him knock out Tito again, but this supposed groundswell of support for a Chuck/Tito re-rematch has me a bit baffled. Between Kimbo/Houston and Chuck/Tito 3, the UFC is getting a little sideshowy.
Another fight where I'll root for a double knockout. Actually no, then we'd never hear the end of it. I want them to recreate round one of Kimbo/Houston over fifteen minutes. And I want it to be a dark match so I don't have to watch.
I can't wait for all the people crying for Chuck's title shot and Chuck is back! if he wins. I can't wait for Tito's cracked skull excuse, either.
Well it's supposed to work that way but as we've seen with Serra/Hughes and now Evans/Jackson, sometimes it takes a lot longer than that to get it booked.
Man, They should of had Carwin and Velasquez coach. That would have been fun. Chuck vs Tito is just gimmicky, they can't even promote it as a rubber match cause Chuck won, decisively, the two times they've fought.
The fight doesn't make too much sense, but it makes sense to have them as TUF coaches.. who else could they use really? Fans don't want to see the titles put on hold for so long so having GSP or Machida coach makes less sense. I have no issues with fights like this, so long as the winner doesn't get a title shot. Not every fight HAS to lead towards a title fight.
yeah that's one thing I appreciate about Japanese MMA, some of their fights are to put on good fights, not the next guy to get a title shot. The UFC is getting better at it, but they also create taylor made fights like Kimbo/Alexander because they know Kimbo is a draw. It's good business and hardcore fans know better, but IMO if it works and the casual fans wants it there's no wrong with it. SO LONG as it doesn't lead to a title shot without fighting a legit contender.
