for the Blazers players and employees and the fans of the Trail Blazers, to wallow in self pity.

Re-hashing the "Durant vs Oden" debate for the millionth time isn't going to change what happened. We need to pick ourselves up and go with what we have, instead of complain about what we don't have.

I'm not saying we can't be upset that Greg has another injury (or that the team seems to have been snake bit), but that character, strength and reputations can be built during tough times. I know it's a cliche, but when the going gets tough, the tough get going.

This is just a test of the teams merit, and they need to take the challenge by the throat and kick it's ass!

This will test the team in a huge way. Yesterday was the worst day in the history of the franchise and if KP/management wallow in self pity the injuries of Greg Oden could bring down the entire franchise.

    ^^ How??

You're right Julius, but I can't do it. Not this morning anyway. I couldn't sleep last night - how many others couldn't either? Just can't bring myself to be positive yet.

I imagine I'll be in this "it's not fair" funk for a week or so. Then I'll forget about Oden.

I admire your optimism and fortitude.

The microfracture was bad, really bad. But this is worse IMO. First of all, it confirms that Oden is injury prone w/o a doubt. At least at the microfracture, you could argue that it was one injury (and doesn't prove he's injury prone) Now it's official, the guy can't stay on the floor. If fouls don't get him, injuries will. Plus this comes on the heels of making the post season for the first time in eons. And we thought the beginning of an "era" in which the Blazers over the next 5-7 years are making title runs. Now, I don't even know what the vision is. This team needs a Center, SF, and PG without the lottery and without enough cap room to sign a marquee FA (s). And I have no idea who is even available on the trading blocks, nor do I know if there is anybody on our roster that is coveted anymore with all the injuries (who isn't named Roy or Aldridge)
