Winter Classic - Boston Bruins vs Philadelphia Flyers
The third annual Winter Classic will be played in Boston as Philly hopes to upset the home team. Every Winter Classic game is played outside every year for the past three years on New Years. The Winter Classic is a very interesting game to watch on TV and in person. The environment is slightly different, due to weather conditions, but the games are always fun to watch.
The first Winter Classic in 2008 was played between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Buffalo Sabres at Ralph Wilson Stadium, with the final score being 2-1, Penguins winning in the Shoot Out. The second Winter Classic played in 2009 was between the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks at Wrigley Field in Chicago. The Red Wings beat their division rivals 6-4. The Fylers and Bruins will be playing outside in Fenway Park.

    Prediction:
Boston Bruins 3 vs Philadelphia Flyers 1

Bruins take this easy, the Flyers have been on a downward spiral after a kinda hot start. They need to get two canadian teams for the next one. Oilers vs Flames or Canucks vs Flames. or Toronto vs one of their rivals. Not that many good outdoor arenas I know of though. They could always just build a temporary one.

Theres plenty of time between now and then, the Flyers can hit another hot spot and continue it. I think it will be a close game, and a good game.

Theres Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. Rogers Centre in Toronto. Both have 50,000+ capacity.

I thought Rogers centre was a dome though, must have a retractable roof. It would be a pretty big game if they held it there. Toronto fans would be all over it I would have to assume.

Rogers Centre has a retractable roof. =D Giving Toronto the Winter Classic would be pretty nice, but I think Montreal should get it. They basically started the NHL. Originally were in the NHA (National Hockey Association) then they moved to the NHL and basically brought everything from the NHA.

That was a fun game to watch. Pretty sick. I'd like to add the Wolverines hockey helmets are pretty sick.

    ^Agreed.

An outdoor hockey game in Toronto would be sick, against the Sens or Canadians would be awesome.

The Bruins need to take this game to show they are still top contenders. I expect a big game out of Thomas and Savard to light it up.

Puck Dropped! Boston Bruins wearing some throwback gold sweaters, and the Philly Fylers are wearing their white sweaters.

Not a bad game. They seem to have trouble creating scoring chances though.
