I don't know how anyone can't already know what Blake is at this point in his career.

Anyone, but Nate and the coaching staff that is. They seem to think he's still a PG in his prime....and that his prime isn't that of a mediocre role player.

Watching him play more will actually decrease his trade value.

When I saw this thread I couldn't help but think of "the price is right" and the showcase showdown. I'm guessing Blake is sort of looking like the showcase that people usually pass on hoping that the second one will have the RV, the hot-tub, and trip to Maui.

    Exactly!

Bayless is a trip to Maui with scuba lessons and a new car.

Blake is a trip to Minnisota for some ice fishing with polka lessons and a new wheelbarrow.

I've said it before. I'll say it again. This retarded coaching staff will not stop playing Blake over Bayless unless Blake is removed from the team so they can no longer put him in.

Top it off with the continued bullshit from the announcers who try to make it seem like Blake is such a grat player. Quit insulting our intelligence.

The Blazers could get more in return by shopping Miller than Blake, at least in terms of available contracts.

In terms of contract, maybe, but Blake as an expiring contract is mroe valuable to a lto of teams than miller, with another year left on his deal.

Possibly, but it's only at $4 million. I'm not sure what of value the Blazers can get for just Blake at that price. If the idea is to blow up the team, then sure, throw Blake into a deal. Trading Blake just to get rid of him seems suspect to me, though.

It stopped being a bit odd and is now in the realm of absurdist comedy.

They praised Blake for getting a rebound when all that happened was the ball bouncing off his face to Joel.
They praised Blake for boxing out. Really? I don't recall any other player getting similar praise for doing something that every fucking player on the team should do from time to time.
Or the pass where he got the ball completely unguarded then passed to an equally unguarded LMA for a 18 foot jumper. Quite an accomplishment!
They even praised him for clock management when he stood at the top of the 3 point line and dribbled for 8 seconds doing nothing.

It sort of reminds me of the Chris Rock routine where he rails on people who brag with "I take care of my kids." His response is "Your supposed to take care of your kids you low expectation having mother fucker."

Maybe it is like that. With other players who have ability they don't praise them for little things but with a trainwreck like Blake they have to give him praise for doing the basketball equivalent of tying his shoes.

    Blake, he's basketball handi-capable.

It would also explain his playing so much. Paul Allen, Nate and KP don't want to get sued for discrimination against the disabled.
