What I like is the fact that OSU is now part of Nike's highest echelon of teams. The image change, while I think silly, has been a huge factor in their emergence to the national scene. Players comment that wearing "cool" uniforms and having top notch facilities were big draws in recruitment. They may not have the facilities U of O has, but they can have the image. I think it's another step forward for college sports in the state of Oregon.
It's cool that Nike has bumped the Beavs up to their top group of schools. I sure hope they dont do anything crazy with the uni's like add wings or diamond plate. I'm not into that crap. Good thing is that it sounds like they'll keep the uni's going with more of a classic style. Thank you Nike!
You see Beavers criticizing the Ducks about this for a while. And now when they get it, watch... "AWESOME!" LoL. Good times. Go Ducks! Happy to hear about this for you guys, though.
I think that they will have a smaller change here. It won't be a U of O, nationally recognized change (I doubt they want that), but one that I believe will keep their uniforms looking close to the same, with a few changes here and there, but then things like 15% lighter and all that jazz the Ducks uniforms have. Not trying to be an ass, but I don't think the change will draw recruits. I think that throughout the country, only U of O's uniforms have specifically had an impact on recruitment. So the Beaver's (from what i'm getting) don't want that type of change, but a subtle/classic one like Ohio State, Texas, etc... Either way, I root for the Beavers up until the civil war. They deserve this, imo. They have been a really good program recently.
My dad is tight with Tinker. Went over to his house a few times as a kid. He has a life size Batman in his office. He designed the costume for the first movie back in the 80's. Cool guy.
