most recent polls show belief in evolution is up to around 50%, although most of those believe god was still involved somehow.

Shouldn't 100% of Americans believe in UFOs...? Anything can be a UFO.

Why? Well if you want me to get into it, it may be a huge post. But here is some fundamental food for thought. Evolution has a lot of gaping holes, and Religion is bull shit, this theory combines the two to make an intriguing argument.

One persons gaping hole is another persons closed case.

I am just saying, that we need to look past the surface of conventional thought and science and look for alternative answers and to think outside the box about something that is spoon fed to us,that many of us accept as truth's.

Is it that crazy to think that perhaps a god DID exist, but instead of it being an omnipotent force, its actually a variation of ourselves that has evolved intelligently enough to create a hybrid of their own species.

out-of-date propaganda. evolution has effectively been proven to be as factual as that the earth revolves around the sun, and it is universally accepted in all of science. the exact nature of the mechanisms behind evolution is still a matter of debate, but the notion that there is a dissenting faction of working scientists disputing that evolution happened is a lie. the only dissenters you will find all have demonstratable religious agendas.

the notion that the world's entire scientific community is just a giant conspiracy spoon-feeding us potential misinformation is insane. you should study how science works on a world-wide scale. the requirements for something like evolution to be universally accepted as fact in science are as rigorous as they can possibly be.

that life on earth might have been seeded from elsewhere is hardly thinking outside the box. that idea is continually being considered by biological/evolutionary scientists. as of yet nobody has come up with any evidence for it.

    What about angels' gaping holes?

Or is that what got Sodom and Ghomorra into trouble?

I agree with you for the most part, but just because there isnt any evidence for it doesnt mean we should write it of as nothing but psychonaut hogwash.

We need to look at religion, especially western religion and see how it could possibly tie in to some of the facts of evolution. The fact that the bible says that God "made us" in likeness of himself serve as clues to figuring out the underlying truth.

if you present it like there is any reason to believe it when there is no evidence it is psychonaut hogwash.

while we're at it maybe we should study the iliad for clues to where lightning bolts come from.

The underlying truth is that all religion is is a sham sold by snake oil salesman. People have been inventing and using religions for the whole history of mankind in order to subjugate and control the population, and to raise certain individuals to power and riches. There are 22 major religions in the world. At least one of those is known to just have been created completely by some guy who just wrote a book. There have been many religions in the past that have come and gone. Many of them are older than Christianity. Why aren't they included in this conversation? Unless you have an alterior motive....:devilwink:
