Honestly, I dont think defense matters much in MVP consideration. I think it is more how you help your team offensively not defensively.</div>Nash wins Offensive player of the year again. He is like the worst defender in the league though.
He is just as bad as Allen Iverson on 1 on 1 defense. Seriously, defense really doesnt come into the question in terms of MVP. MVP is how well you help your team, which usually refers to offense.
Again, it's what you think MVP is. In terms of myself and voters, most people juudge it by the player most valuable to a good team. Billups, Dirk, Brand and LeBron aren't as valuable totheir team as Nash
Everything comes to play when it comes to MVP. You can't have a big liability like Nash does on defense. Even a suns fan agrees with me. Nash can get offensive player of the year but MVP belongs to Lebron, Kobe, or Dirk.
Yeah Lebron was a major candidate. You wouldnt be thinking it was a joke if Lebron won MVP. The thing is, Lebron and AI are just as bad as Nash on defense.I think you think it is a joke because a white, long haired Canadian kid won MVP two times in a row. Duh, why do you think? Because he helps his offense out more then anyone else in the NBA right now.

It sounds ignorant and stupid, I know, but it's true. People see Nash and compare him to everyone else and they see a short white guy who is everything basketball isn't today. If Nash was a big black dude who could dunk, the haters would be reduced
Lebron's defense isn't as important but letting opposing point guards going off is like the worst possible situation. It is harder to hide a point guards defense than a small forward/shooting guard. Parker and Billups will embarrass Nash's defense when it counts just like any year.

You are saying stuff for the sake of saying stuff at this point. It's OK for LeBron is play bad defense, and it doesn't hurt his MVP status because it's not as important to let a SF by you as it is to let a Point Guard go by you?Point guards - Shooting guard - Small Forward = Permiter player = The all come from the same area of courtIt's not like Small Forwards and Shooting Guards only drive from corners. I'd be willing to bet it's spread around. And it's not like Nash is beat off the dribble from the top of the key everytime. Bottom line: If you are bad on defense, you hurt your team equally as much. LeBron, Nash, and Dirk all play horrible defense, so it's nothing valid to use against them within that comparison
If Nash won it last year, and he did a more incredible job this year, than he should have won it agian.I wouldn't have a problem with Nash, Kobe, Lebron or Dirk winning the MVP this year. And stop talking about defenses, yes Nash is a terrible defender, but that doesn't mean crap in the grand scheme of things. But Nash did the same thing in Dallas that he's doing now, he just had some all stars around him then, and that's why it wasn't noticed, yeah he had Amare and Marion, but fo rsome reason Dirk and Finley and he made a big 3 that was often overlooked except as a offensive threesome.BTW Lebron and Dirk aren't Bruce Bowen, but neither of them is in the same realm of Nash when it comes to bad defense. I actually know for a fact Dirk is a better defender than given credit for, and although I've only seen Lebron play a few times, I've heard his defense is improving too...But neither are nowhere near as bad as Nash.

Like I said point guard is most important position offensively and defensively. You have to play both ways and I figured it out by experience that Nash is a terrible defense. I don't think that part of Nash's game will change either. Nash is a great player to have if you have good defenders around him. Neither Dirk or Lebron are that bad of defenders either.
You dont look at a team without a certain player because the Mavs totally changed their philosophy and gt a good guy in Terry and also, all the young guys continued to become better players and they added a very solid pg in Devin Harris as well.
Yeah and what has Devin Harris done the last month? He has been injured and Terry's defense is almost as bad as Nash.
