Re: WEC 45: Cerrone vs. Ratcliff (Dec. 19th) I like watching the WEC, even though its not as big as the UFC, its still a fight, and some pretty sick fights.
Re: WEC 45: Cerrone vs. Ratcliff (Dec. 19th) I FINALLY got TSN2, so maybe I'll be able to watch some more WEC instead of trying to hope and pray there's a torrent out there... Love WEC events, I don't think I've seen a bad event yet. Some bad fights yeah, but there's always at least 2 very good fights and normally more worth seeing. I expect this one to be just as good. Now if Vs. would just like SHOW MORE FIGHTS in a 2 hour period.
Re: WEC 45: Cerrone vs. Ratcliff (Dec. 19th) TSN2 is totally unreliable with WEC events. They only show them half the time and you never know when they will decide to do so.
Re: WEC 45: Cerrone vs. Ratcliff (Dec. 19th) ^ In related news the UFC is planning on doing 2 live shows on Versus in 2010. What I hope happens is SportsNet picks up the WEC as they have the UFC. They broadcast in HD (unlike Spike) so that's a plus.
Re: WEC 45: Cerrone vs. Ratcliff (Dec. 19th) Win or lose, Donald Cerrone is dropping to featherweight. Guess no Cerrone/Varner 2 in the near future.
Re: WEC 45: Cerrone vs. Ratcliff (Dec. 19th) I love the match-ups the WEC has put together here. Should be a great card.

Re: WEC 45: Cerrone vs. Ratcliff (Dec. 19th) Njokuani and Mizugaki were both eventually able to make weight.
Re: WEC 45: Cerrone vs. Ratcliff (Dec. 19th) Njokuani's knock out was awesome. I don't know what that newb fighter was thinking to retreat the way he did but he sure did pay for that. Cerrone seemed like he was overall superior to Ratcliff, but those shots Ratcliff took to the groin sure look like they hurt and I'm sure they took something out of him. I'm relatively new to watching MMA, but how would guys in the WEC like Cerrone or Mike Brown compare to UFC? Would they just be mid-level guys in the UFC?

Re: WEC 45: Cerrone vs. Ratcliff (Dec. 19th) Horodecki is a young fighter with a lot of room to learn. However I think he is better suited to featherweight or bantamweight as he was easily outmuscled by Njokuani tonight. Ratcliff got gassed out by throwing too many hard punches and taking too many kicks to the ribs but you're right the groin shots might've had an effect. Cerrone was better, though. The UFC only has one weight class shared with the WEC (155lbs.). A few of their guys in that weight class (champ Jamie Varner, Cerrone, Ben Henderson) would be mid-level in the UFC but obviously a long way away from being as good as BJ Penn. The featherweight (145lbs.) guys (Urijah Faber, Jose Aldo, Mike Brown, etc.) would struggle if they had to move up in weight because the talent level in the UFC's lightweight division is very high.
That knockout looked like the one Yves Edwards gave to Josh Thompson. My group went crazy when we saw that. Overall I thought it was really solid event even though I was cringing after the 2nd and 3rd groin shots in the main event.
