justblaze you aren't even saying anything.but tell me. who would get MVP over nash?better players, sure. better team players? no. he's the one that drastically changed the suns.. DRASTICALLY. from no numbers to big numbers, to the bottom to the top. last year he made amare own. this year he has no amare and his team still ranks all the way up there. people have turned teams around. but not like nash has. he didn't do it w/ 30+ ppg. he didn't do it w/ dominate post play.. he didn't even do it w/ defense. he did it w/ the pass.. MOST VALUABLE PLAYER OF THE GAME is steve nash, and he's getting awarded for it.. there are A LOT of better players, more athletic, smarter, shoot better, run faster, stronger, taller, shorter. you name it there's someone better. but they haven't done what nash has. he fit into the puzzle piece like no one else could. he made this team what it has been. which is why he is the MVP of the league.
I'm a post whore, writing posts that long isn't my thing; with the exception of the occasional lengthy post in the Off Topic Debates forum.
Well anyway, I just let other people argue my points for me and I agree with them and give them props when they make valid points.

He's not an NBA MVP.
Yea Kobe should have won MVP this year. Shawn Marion could have also been considered as the MVP of the Suns, so that should have taken votes away from Nash, but I guess it didn't. Kobe carried his team into the post season, and as of right now his team is tied in their series.

Wow. The members of this board have really showed their immaturity. Steve Nash wins two MVPs, and suddenly he's not deserving at all, and a disgrace. Suddenly he only makes his team better because of the Suns offense, and he shouldn't be MVP because he plays no defence. All PGs make their teammates better, what Nash does is expected. And again, BCB, your argument is garbage. You do realize before Nash came to the Suns he was a third option who still managed to make the All Star team. That's impressive in itself. And yes the Suns do have a "run and gun" offense, but the NBA Team leaders in PPG the past 5 years have all been led by Nash, which has to count for something. Yes they were all run and gun teams, but Steve Nash makes them the best run and gun teams.People simply don't want Nash to win the MVP. The MVP has never been an award for the NBA's best player, why can't anyone realize this?
He was a third option but still a PG, so he touched the ball every possession. That's decieveing to say.
Yes he brought the ball up into the halfcourt, from there he would normally pass the pall to a perimiter player. From that point on, he was the third option.
Your saying being a third option on a team doesn't attribute to having lesser numbers than being a first option?
The PG is never the third option when he runs the offense, so I just don't realy agree with what you're saying.
Why can't the point guard not be the third option? Here's what happens in an NBA game: The point guard recieves an inbound pass or outlet pass, and dribbles past the halfcourt line. The rest of his teammates get in, and the ball is passed to any player, normally within the 18 second mark. After that, the Point Guard no longer has the ball, and the offense is ran through certain players. Back in Dallas, it was ran through Nowitzki first, and Finley second. In LA, it's ran through Kobe first, and Lamar Odom second. Can you honestly tell me the Lakers use Smush Parker as the 2nd option? No, because it's clearly Lamar Odom. Can you honestly tell me the Houston Rockets use Rafer Alston as the 2nd option? No it's clearly Yao Ming. Can you honestly tell me that Scottie Pippen was not the 2nd option in Chicago? If you don't think a point guard can be a third option, then something is horribly wrong
He may have been the third option in terms of scoring, but that doesn't mean he was the third offensive option. I understand what you're saying about how many teams don't really use the point guard to run the offense, and I'll concede there.Nash was still running the offense though, and he was a legitimate scorer. It's not as if he made the all-star team never touching the ball, the offense for the Mavs went through him.
