When Will McGrady Play?

For weeks now, Tracy McGrady has said he's ready to play, that he feels good enough to go. But the Rockets don't agree with McGrady, so he's continued to not play, only practice.

And nearing the halfway point in December, it doesn't seem like McGrady is any closer to seeing the court.

"The quicker he comes back really makes no difference," coach Rick Adelman told The Oregonian. "The more we can play at a decent level and work him in the better off I think we are in the long run.

"When you bring back someone of his quality and his talent, it's gonna change what you do and it's gonna change guy's roles. How much? I don%u2019t know. I want to be sure and I want to feel comfortable with this."

The Rockets have displayed a lot of chemistry without McGrady this season, and word is they'd prefer to trade McGrady then insert him into the lineup. But the longer McGrady is kept out of the lineup, the longer it will be until he's traded. Teams need to see how his knee is responding to game action and what McGrady's production level is at before they'll agree to a trade.
