The NBA MVP award is suppost to go to the best player in the league which was Kobe Bryant this season. Nobody even came close to the kind of things Kobe was doing but because alot of people not like him he didnt win it. Yes the NBA has changed since the 90's but the fact of the matter is in the end the name of the award is most valuable player award not most valuable team player award. Kobe should have won.</div>Dirk and Lebron. [IMG]

Yeah, and even they didnt win it.i'd pick dirk, lebron, or kobe over nash<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (KMart @ Apr 30 2006, 07:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Again, the MVP award is judged by the regular season. Nash is playing badly in the playoffs, yes, but looka t it this way: What Kobe Bryant is doing to the Suns this series, is what Steve Nash does every single game for the Suns in the regular season.</div>too bad nash cant copy himself huh?

But of course, this will be all blamed on Nash [IMG]</div>If Nash is going to get all of the credit for his teammates being so good, then he can take the critisizm for the suns most likely losing in the first round. He cant have it both ways

An MVP shouldnt have it both ways, so much for the most valuable player

I think it should have been co-mvps, Kobe and Nash. I would like to say that Kobe is the MVP, but Nash is just to hard to overlook and vice versa.

They still havnt officially decided have they? If the Lakers win this series I expect Kobe to be MVP. He is sharing the ball well, he made the game tying and game winning shots, he led his team to the playoffs when no one else was consistently there, he can score at will, averaging 35 ppg is unheard of, leading a 7th seed over the 2 seed is simply amazing.Nash went cold in the 4th last game. Even though he has played pretty well the whole series, that will show up on the judges final scorecard.

This is the "Season MVP"...And I think they did already decide, because all the other awards that were "leaked" out were accurate.

Oh, I thought the playoffs had to do with it.If they didn't it would just be stupid to hand the MVP over to Nash when he got out in the first round to his MVP rival Kobe.

That's one thing I don't like with the way the NBA issues the award, they don't take the playoffs into consideration.

The playoffs' MVP is pretty much covered by the Finals' MVP award, in my opinion.

Yeah but if a team gets out in the First round, there is really no point of them being MVP if they cant carry a team past the first round. To be the Most Valuable Player you should have to do well in the playoffs too. Thats what basketball is all about.

I see your point though, but due to the nature of the award the playoffs shouldn't be taken into account, as the Finals' MVP pretty much covers the MVP of the playoffs.

Saying Kobe Bryant was more deserving is fair. However to say Steve Nash was undeserving is disrespectful. Look what he did with that roster. Not to many people even knew who Boris Diaw was until he signed with Phoenix. They played the entire season without a big man. To win the amount of games they did without a true center is amazing. I dont see how any team can win with Kurt Thomas and Boris Diaw as there frontcourt
