You guys can find the article from yesturday on eastvalleytribune.comI think Diaw deserved it. He tripled the major stat categories and was so important for us when we found out Amare wasn't going to play. He was also 3rd in the league in triple doubles.

I think he deserves it. I would of been happy with either West or Diaw winning. I guess Diaw gets a little more of an edge because his play didnt drop off as the season ended. His stats are pretty good. Over 6 rebounds and over 6 assists, all while playing out of position.

David West, Nenad Krstic and Mike James are a couple names that come to mind as having made some serious strides this season..I think this was a very close race..

No way it was going to be Mike James, anyway. You could tell this award would be given to someone who just shined in the spotlight out of the blue, it wasnt going to be someone who had people thinking he'd the award. I couldnt decide between Diaw or West. But Diaw really deserved it, and he's the better all-around player.

I dont want to post the same thought over again so here is my old post:My take on Mike James. He has actually not improved as much as people thought. I remember at the beginning of last season, Mike was playing great when he was getting minutes. He was the Rockets starting pg. He could take alot of shots that he wanted to and his numbers were great. But then they decided to bench him for Bobby Sura and then his stats took a dive. But you had to realize that for a 6th Man, 12 ppg was also really good. If he were starting and getting the shots and offensive control he has in Toronto, he would have got that last year. His numbers have improved because he has control over the Toronto offense. It was obvious that he was a great shooter before. Now he is just taking advantage of the minutes and looks he gets with the ball. He is shooting alot in late game situations and looking to shoot before he is looking to pass. If he took more of a pg approach his numbers would not be like that. I dont think he has improved at all and thats why you give it to someone like Boris Diaw or David West who have worked hard to improve their skills.

This award is largely based on statistical increases..West and Diaw are easily the top candidates and the only two worthy of winning the award, however, others who made statistical improvements include Krstic and James..They were likely in the conversation although they were not heavily considered..Mike James has been a backup PG for his entire career prior to playing for a weak Houston team last year. Now he starts for Toronto and has a big year, puts up big numbers, and makes a name for himself..Im not saying he should have won it by no means, but he has to be one of the guys noted for improving his performance this season in contrast with his previous years..
