One time, he gets off his couch and suddenly needs to miss a year. This season, he jumps up, comes down and needs to miss a year. How the hell are these injuries happening? And how can we assume they won't happen again?

Well, he's been hurt ever since he graduated HS so one can only assume that he is indeed injury prone.

"He's back to 100%" they'll say and follow it up with "but for how long?"

    It truly sucks.

Just watch...he'll come back, we're in the NBA finals and he gets injured in warmups before game 7 and that's the end of his career. :(

He'll get healthy and then it'll be a waiting game for his next major injury...:sigh:

Good news, it's never the same injury. Perhaps once he's had surgery on both legs and both arms, he'll be good to go!

If he can get us to Game 7 of the NBA Finals, I think Outlaw can finish the job.

We can rebuild him, make him better than he was before. Better... stronger...faster.

well yeah. but does that mean they aren't freak injuries that we can't expect to continue?

I really wonder if this latest one wasn't a delayed reaction to his injury when he bumped knees with Corey Maggette's knee brace. Same knee. Same knee cap. Isn't it possible that the bone was fractured, and over time it began to get worse until finally it snapped?

The med staff has said it isn't...but I wonder how they are so sure. Their quick discounting of the possibility seems a little CYA to me.

How else could they explain his knee cap essentially splitting from only jumping straight up in the air? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I had a knee like that. It took a lot of abuse for years, never complained. But eventually, it reached the limit, and just snapped. 35 people died that day. Don't know where it got the automatic rifle. The other knee claimed it saw nothing.

Well, that kind of fracture is relatively common. Basically the contraction of the quad just breaks the knee cap. But....still it does makes you wonder....

Was there an explanation for his microfracture?
