Granderson doesn't strike fear in pitchers enough to consider him a vast improvement or a major player. He's a damn fine player, but I don't think he'll win you many ball games this year. I can't explain what I'm trying to say, sorry my thought isn't more clear.
It's ok, I think I understand. I realize he's not an elite player, but he's certainly an upgrade over Johnny Damon. On a side note, FUCK SNOW. God, I hate Iowa because of this shit. We've got at least 8" around my area with apparently more on the way. On top of that, we're getting 30-50mph winds today to make it blizzard-like conditions. Oh well, I guess it gives me an excuse to not go to work today.
I'd love to give the weather to you. I hate this shit. Not because it's cold, but because of everything that comes with it - snow, ice, etc.
I'd imagine living in it blows, but something about the cold just relaxes me hardcore. I love being able to wear sweatshirts, hoodies, big jackets, beanies, etc... I lived in VA for like 4 years, and it was awesome. Granted, that isn't Iowa cold..but still, its cold. Angels' are after Roy Halladay HARD. Rumor is we're the favorites and Halladay wants to come here. I'd love to get Roy. We've also backed off of our Jason Bay hunt. We're still the favorites to sign Lackey, as well. I think our starting rotation come April will be: Halladay, Lackey, Weaver, Kazmir, Santana. That is fucking awesome if it is healthy.
If it's healthy, that's an amazing lineup. You've got a legit ace in Halladay, and then Lackey can be a #1 in a lot of places too. You also have Kazmir and Santana, who've got the ability to be a #1 or #2 guy in the rotation if they had some consistency to their games. On a happy note - the Yanks brought back Pettitte today. That'll help solidify our rotation, I'm just curious how the back part of it is going to look next year.
I hope we can pull this Halladay deal through. We're rumored to be giving up Joe Saunders, who the Blue Jays absolutely love, Erik Aybar, and a few prospects. Yeah, they gave Pettitte some nice $$$.
If the Angels get Halladay I don't think they'll resign Lackey. They have a lot of arms in the farm system and stop gap guys like Palmer & Mosely. The deal includes Peter Bourgeious (sp) who's an OF prospect. Brandon Wood better be ready to live up to his expectations. The Angels are replacing the left side of the infield to make room for him.
I don't care if Lackey doesn't come back. I think he's extremely overrated. There is a reason why the Angels are hesitating to even offer him AJ Burnett type money. I'm excited to see what Wood can do with a full season of big league AB's and consistent AB's. The piece I'll miss if this deal works out for Halladay is Saunders. Joe has some fuckin' balls man. He won't blow you away with his stuff, but he's a hell of a pitcher, a smart one. But when it comes to a caliber player like Halladay, you don't think twice. Close the deal, Reagins.
the first one i got is a symbol jean michel basquiat used in his graffiti and paintings, he's an important artist to me and a big influence on my work, he is probably my favourite artist. i am getting a symbol of the alexandria lighthouse, the symbol is taken from a percussion instrument that i have played since childhood, it is an egyptian drum called a darbuka and the few that i have owned/played have all been made in alexandria. ive also been fasinated with egyptian culture and history since i was a child. i am also getting an oldschool pair of boxing gloves. boxing is important to me in different ways, i enjoy it, i enjoy watching it, im very interested in the other aspects to the sport like the personal struggles, the feeling of victory or the feeling of losing. a boxer can train a whole 6 months or a year to fight his opponent, he may work harder than he ever has, but he could still lose, and its a struggle , one that takes away from you little by little, your always building yourself back up, even in a bout, a boxer is smacked around, very hard hits, but you have to recover to not get hit even harder, push through the pain barrier and especially the mental and emotional barrier. it is a strong metaphor for how life goes, you can work as hard as possible at something yet you may come up short, and you need to be prepared for it, thats something thatt i want to remember and the symbol of the boxing gloves does that for me. edit: i just booked it for the 22nd, the guy is to busy today or this week to do it. so yeah on the 22nd of december im getting em done
^^Thanks for sharing. If you like Egyptian culture and history you'd probably find the Aztec Incas equally fascinating.
