Well kinda, but what I mean, is, that the idea of keeping Blake in the game to space for Roy and spot up shoot for three doesn't work, that's Eric's idea of how we should run the team, obviously because all of all his points of what Blake does good and how we should keep that together.

My opinion, is Blake is useless outside of maybe coming through w/a three; and that we should switch up our offense when certain players come into the game, Miller/Bayless, etc.

Hell we should switch up our offense all together, b/c I see us going nowhere with the same ol' sets as last year

And that's why we wont win a championship with this current squad... in my opinion, banking on Blake's three's will get us nowhere.

Brooks shot 28% from the field in Games 3, 4, & 5. The TWENTY SIX shots his missed were hardly all from blocked shots. FURTHERMORE, when you have two big men like Joel and Oden, that gives you the ability to stay up on your man and prevent him shooting comfortably from outside and Oden and Joel will be there to stop him if he goes by you.

I like how all the posts in this thread are moving towards just easily shooting down Kingspeeds' attempts at defending Blake.

Pretty sure if we rolled back the game tapes, those shots were either wide open runners and pull-ups in the lane that Brooks simply just missed, or were altered shots around the basket.

I just want to see one media outlet, or coach, or anyone besides the Blazers advocate Blake playing ahead of Miller, or Bayless for that matter.

Help me out. How was Outlaw's 38% three point shooting last season better than Blake's 42% three point shooting?

This needlessly puts them at risk for foul trouble, which is exactly what happened to Oden. How can you legitimately base a defense around such a strategy? Wouldn't it be easier (and smarter) to have a defender who could just stay in front of his man and force a pass-off?

I realize we didn't have that option though.

Outlaw shoots with a hand in his face, Blake doesnt

i think that makes up a 4% difference

Hell wide open i can shoot 30% from three...jus saying

Ya you won't find that haha. Hollinger just stated in his last chat that if the Blazers are to have any chance in the playoffs, it will be with either Miller or Bayless at the point.

The Bulls and Lakers won titles banking on Paxson and Fisher's threes. In championship runs, the defenses collapse on the best players and you MUST have a Steve Kerr or a Robert Horry or a Jaren Jackson or a Stephen Jackson to knock down the wide open three. You simply MUST. That is championship basketball, like it or not.

Paxson hit the championship winning three in 1993. Steve Kerr hit the championship winning shot in 1997. Fisher hit the game tying and winning threes in Game 4 vs the Magic this past season. Oh yea, how did Game 4 of Kings/Lakers in 2002 end? Horry for three.

Watch the Finals every year. It comes down to players hitting outside shots when the star players get doubled down the stretch.

Blake and Rudy are our guys.

You guys dont understand, how are we gonna take out our best defender??? :biglaugh:

This thinking that Blake is a good defender is just crazy. He cant stay in front of one point guard in the league.... laughable

If that's the case, we should trade Oden and LMA. fuck it.

    In Blake's 3's we trust.........

Oden gets most of his fouls guarding his own man.

We won the recent game against Houston because of Blake's clutch D on Brooks in the last 3 seconds of the game.

Half of his fouls come from guards....dont have data to support that, but neither do you

HUH? No. We KEEP Oden and LMA and surround them with shot makers. That is how you win titles.
