Ariza was awful, visibly frustrated, and he lost it after losing the ball. This season is sort of like an all-star boot camp for Ariza. I think the Rockets are hoping, at the end of the year, he comes out of it as a much improved offensive player -- a legit number 3 option. For the most part, it hasn't been very pretty so far.
There must be something more to this besides Ariza being frustrated. Ariza's had a lot of bad shooting nights this year and hasn't thrown a blatant elbow. It'll be interesting to see how long he's suspended for. Ariza needs to do a better job of keeping his composure I'm sure Battier will have talk with him.
Must've been a bully in school. That's a typical bully move, to throw a punch or do something violent when embarrassed in a game.
It was frustration. Missing shots is one thing. In that particular stretch, everything seemed to be going wrong for the Rockets and Ariza then gets the ball taken right out of his hands. He momentarily lost his cool, but he wasn't looking to get into a fight. He just wasn't thinking.
yeah i agree, if he wasnt prepared to own up to trying to hit somebody, how was he not looking to fight? if he had connected he would have seriously hurt derozan, and jack would have been over much quicker than he was, and he would have probably tried to hit him. Bitch move by ariza.
