Radio Playhouse was cancelled a few weeks back. It was on the air since late 1999 and KXJM gave the show the ax despite decent ratings. It's still #1 in a few other markets it's in.
My boy EWT who posts on here occasionally and works with me on the broadcasts produced the TV/Internet feed of that show. He kinda knew it was coming for awhile. I think they might be on again soon though. Not sure where, but I guess they have some leads.
The Playhouse... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. It was good when it started, back with Sonny and Ebro... but has gone downhill ever since they left and especially when PK decided to hire that dipshit Egypt.
That show sucked. They weren't funny. I hate PK. The guy always came off as arrogant to me. Why doesn't anyone play music in the morning? Every station has some lame team of DJ's sitting around and cracking stupid jokes.
He is arrogant, very arrogant. I'll give him credit for one thing, he is a Trail Blazer season ticket holder.
he may work his ass off but he isn't very funny and was annoying to listen to. i saw the tv broadcast a few times and i can't understand how anyone could listen to that every morning.
The way the guy talks, you'd think he was some good looking guy.... he looks like the guy from Everybody Loves Radymond only uglier.
He does work hard and is passionate about his job. But the dudes head is bigger then his ass, and if you've seen him lately, that's one arrogant dude!
To all you people saying the playhouse sucks, you are all a minority of the people. Obviously you're opinion sucks and should be never look art seriously because last time i checked if the show is #1 on the ratings then its pretty damn good. You're all probably circle jerking while listening to Johnjay and Bitch right now and wishing you had even an ounce of PK's talent. And for the record Neveen aka "egypt" was a amazing asset to the show and to say she took it down is a HUGE miscalculation on your part (yes beerboy im talking to your backwoods sister loving white trash self)
I don't live in Portland anymore so I can't comment on the show itself, but using a #1 rating and popularity isn't the best defense for good "art." Backstreet Boys Limp Bizkit 'N Sync Britney Spears Creed All of those "artists" have been number 1 at one point or another, and you won't convince me that because of that, they are automatically good.
