Iverson. AI plays at a higher level than Parker does. AI has some great moves and can score easily. If he played with a team that could do some damage I think they could get a title. AI is just that kind of player.Parker has alot of talent around. He has Manu, Tim Duncan, and Robert Horry has the experience. Parker is not a bad point guard at all, I just think AI is at a hugher level than Parker is.
Even if Parker has more talent around shooting 55% from the field and embarrassing Bibby shows what he can do. Parker is the leading point guard of the best team in the league while Iverson is leading a team to the lottery. Parker is also a better defender than Iverson. Iverson does put up the stats but it not always benefits team when he takes a lot of shots. Parker is pretty much unstoppable when he is hitting that midrange shot.
LOL!This is easily Iverson. Both arent good defenders. TP is inexperienced. Iverson, I believe led his team to a Finals one time, TP is always silent in the playoffs. I would say Iverson has better court vision, he scores about 10 more ppg then Tony, he is the better mid range shooter, and he can get inside with his crossover basically just as well as Tony.

He has totally shut down Bibby so far in this series and bothers players a lot with his speed. Parker is a much more consistent slasher. Iverson can get to the basket but doesn't finish as well as Parker. It is closer than you think. I believe Parker shoots 13% higher than Iverson. That has to count for something.

Tony Parker is not a good defender. He tries, but he really isn't that good at defense. AI's game is superior to Parker's in just about every single area. Once again, it's not even close.
I guess if you were a spurs fan you would realize how much Parker does for his team. I am arguing with some hardcore Iverson fans so I'm sure I am outnumbered here. Iverson could never shoot 55% and it wouldn't matter what team he was on.
Well you could say Parker would be scoring more if he didn't have to share with Duncan and Ginobili. I actually think Ginobili is the worst defender in the spurs starting lineup. He gets out powered consistently. Parker struggles with a couple players but he usually puts a lot of pressure on a player and takes their team out of rhythm in their half court set. Scoring point guards give him some problems but so far he has shut down Bibby for 2 games. So Parker's team defense is good and individual defense he struggles occasionally.
Iverson is a better scorer in every sense of the word. Not only does he score more, but he has many more ways to do it. He has a better outside jumper, and is one of the few NBA players who can get to the rim as well if not better than Tony Parker. Wait, you are about to say: "If Iverson can get to the rim like Tony Parker, why isn't he a top Point in the Paint man?" Well, it's because all Tony does is drive. If Allen Iverson went to the hoop everytime like Tony Parker, he's be scoring that much int he paint as well. That said, because Parker goes int he paint his FG is higher, but again, it's decievingIverson is also a better passer. He is a better late game player. He plays the passing lanes better, and atleast makes a slight impact on the defensive end. Iverson is still better by a sonsiderable amount, and I didn't even take overall career accomplishments into account
Better scorer: IversonMidrange shooter: ParkerOutside shooter: IversonOverall defense: ParkerBetter slasher: ParkerBetter Passer: IversonMore Experience: Parker. 2 Championships isn't enough and almost a 3rd if it weren't for Fisher? Shaq only dunks and he is considered the most dominant player ever. So why is good shot selection held against Parker? He is playing the way the coach wants him to play and it is very disciplined. If he wanted to he could score 30 a game but it wouldn't be for the good of the team.
Right now..Im gonna say Parker. Obviously if you look at the big picture you have to say AI, but if I had to pick one guy right now it would be Parker..AI has shot the ball terribly and been a chucker for most of his career. Ill admit he has changed his ways the last couple years and been a more all around team player, but right now I have to say Parker is my choice. They are both extremely quick and possess blazing speed and ability to get to the rim, but Parker is a better finisher around the hoop, in my opinion, and creates more open oppurtunities for teamattes through his penetration...The big thing here is age, AI is getting up there in age and injuries will start to affect him whilst Parker is still very young, already has a ring, and has lots of valuable experience already..Oh wait, I lied, thats not the biggest thing that makes me give the edge to Tony.. :worthy:
