Yep. But that would narrow the problems down. Guard rotation fixed, expect jelling by end of year. PF nailed down. Center is Joel plus a backup. We would just need to iron out SF.

Also- need I remind everyone that we have another decent PG in Patty Mills?? A trade has to happen. Miller has to go.

You know I have no problem with Blake being a bench player on the team, I think he is a full team player who buys in whether from bench or starter. I don't think he is paid too much to sit on the bench and keep quiet until his number is called. My problem is that sometimes with Nate, if you leave a player on a team, Nate will find a way to fuck it up and put them in the game at the expense of a better player. I am hoping tonight is a sign that Nate is beginning to see the light about which guards are truly talented on this team. But every time I watch the game I am expecting him to jerk Bayless out at any second, for absolutely no reason.

We need to trade a guard before Rudy comes back IMO

I'd say Blake has to go. He's a free agent after the season anyway.

    Blake has to go.

Miller as a mentor for JBay (Miller has been a stud in the league and can teach JBay as he grows into the pro game), and pick-up a SF/PF in exchange for Blake.

    Mills 3rd PG.

What do you guys think Blake's value around the league is at this point? He is expiring right?

HIs value would be little more than a warm body at another position, which would be helpful.

It sure seems from how they act on/off the court, that Blake is more of a mentor to Bayless than miller. Also, when everyone was asked which Blazer would most likely end up a future coach, the conclusion was Blake.

I am not a blake fan, nor a miller fan. To tell the truth, i have been sorely disappointed in both this season. But as far as a mentor, I think Blake is better than Miller.

Being better does not always correlate to being a better teacher. Just look at how little Blake had to work with. He is one of the least athletic people in the NBA, and yet he works and works and works, and studies and studies and studies to become better. Miller is said to be the first to leave when practice is over. Blake is said to be the last. Which would you rather have teach our young Bayless?

For THE FIRST TIME, I saw "confidence" in Bayless and his (second half) play!

    This was an impressive sign.

Now it is up to Nate whether this gets built upon, or fanned out!

I'm worried over this quite frankly. I can see Bayless getting a whopping 7 minutes against the Suns - and this would really hurt Bayless.

On the other hand, let's say Nate goes with Bayless against the Suns - and again tells him "be aggressive - go out there and do it" - - -

THEN, the game against the SUNS becomes his true "break out" and where he [Bayless] is truly "set free!"

Really? For the first time? Bayless has had confidence since Day 1. He's just never been given regular minutes ever. And I don't think he will get regular minutes unless there's a trade and trading Blake would be a HUGE mistake. Two of our better three point shooters, Batum & Outlaw, are out for a couple more months at least. And Rudy's out another month. We need Blake's three point shooting. Point blank. We need it. Plus, as was said, Blake is a team first guy who is the last to leave practice. That engine is needed in our locker room.

Miller, on the other hand? We were doing just fine before he came along and he doesn't bring much to the table that Bayless and Roy don't already bring in their own ways.

Trade Miller for a forward. Fuck, we wanted a forward to begin with. That's why we went after Turkoglu and Millsap first!

I want them to trade Blake because I have zero faith in Nate starting Bayless if Blake and him are the PGs. He's not too big on Miller, and Miller is 33 and is only here for 2 years, I think it's a much better timeline for Bayless. I also don't know what the hell Blake would mentor him about other than a great work ethic, which Jerryd already has.

This is assuming Nate is here next year.

I actually agree with KS (I can't believe I'm writing this) that Bayless had more impressive games, but the great thing about this occasion is he was trusted to be in there over a more experienced player in cruch time of a close game.

Well, Bayless the PG sucked last night. Bayless the SG played very well.

The problem is that Bayless the SG is stuck behind Rudy when he returns.

    Steve Blake's percentages this year:

    37/34/70.

    Not something we need.

Miller should be the mentor for Bayless. Blake should be traded as he has a bit of value as an expiring (lord knows his value doesn't come from his play on the court).

Also, you're a fool if you favor Mills over Miller.

well I think we are finding out that ANY PG who dominates the ball just ain't gonna work with Roy. And a guy like Blake will not really get us anywhere as we need another threat, inside and out. Bayless IMO can be paired with ROY and I think will be "good enough" at the PG side of things and very good as the "other threat" to keep the pressure off Roy. I really liked what I saw in the last 2 minutes.
