Yep GP was exactly who I was thinking of. But I don't even think GP was that physical. The physcality of his game reminds me more of Steve Smith.
Nono. I agree with you there. I think he's still in transition from being a combo guard to pure point. I think he can do it. Its thats what Chicago is doing right now, which is causing them to lose a few games, but it'll pay off in the long run. And at this point, i'd take Evans over Jennings despite all of the Jennings nut hugging early in the season. He's honestly everything Jamal Crawford was supposed to be.
Actually I think he has less upside than some because he's already large and can take the NBA beating, so he won't have the sudden jump in output that comes with simply physically maturing. Also he's not particularly athletic, just nicely mobile. He reminds me of somewhere between Roy and Deron Williams, but with distribution skills more like the former than the latter. He doesn't have Gary Payton's defensive potential, but then hardly anybody does. Small, fast guards will light him up, and he'll overpower them back.
Except he's bigger than Roy and has longer arms. Tyreke also takes it to the hoop a lot more than Roy. Roy's a jump shooter. Only 47% of Evans attempts are jump shots compared to 74% of Roys.
I thought it was funny because he looked like a small version of Dale Davis with guard skills. I wonder if Dale spread his love around the country, and this is one of his kids and we just don't know it!
