9 mil for both players. 4.5 mil for each is fine. I think we all should be more worried on the deal we signed with Andre. So far that has been a big thorn as far as buying talent.

Oh and Outlaw still shared the 4th quarter scoring with Roy last season and Blake was among the lead leaders in 3 point percentage. They had value. Better to pick them up and deal them if things didn't work.

Not disagreeing with the concept, but what other available free agents would have been great pickups. In hindsight, I can certainly see ways I would have preferred to spend the money. Who knows whether those players would have gone for it or not, however. I thought a nice offseason would have been to add Grant Hill and Antonio McDyess. Had we have waived Outlaw and Blake, I would have put Kidd on that list as well. Tough to say whether any of them would have gone for it, and I understand they're older than our core is. But they woudl have played great roles as players and mentors on this team, IMO.

I'm all for getting older. I would rather build a young core and bring in vets every 3-4 years to keep the dynasty alive. Those older players are needed, especially in the playoffs.

Aside from Ariza there weren't a whole lot of defensive minded 3s available. The likeliest scenario is that KP would have gotten into a bidding war with Toronto and "won" the Hedo sweepstakes, which would leave us the same crappy defensive team we are now. In a perfect world I'd like to think KP would have decided to split his money and go after two quality guys, but he seemed pretty damn enamored with Turkish MJ. :sigh:

    Hello darkness, my old friend
The only reason I'd have wanted more money in the kitty was to make a stronger run at Paul Millsap. I thought and still think he's a stud (though, admittedly, he's off to a slow start this season). Outside of that, I don't think the team could have used $9 million better than to have two useful players like Outlaw and Blake. Of course, I expected Blake to be useful as a reserve, not miscast as a 30-35 MPG player, and obviously I didn't expect Outlaw to get injured. But injuries to someone like Outlaw (who had no injury concerns) can't be predicted.

I was way more excited about the rumor about Milsap, then Turk-the-goo. In fact, out of those three supposed offers, Turk, Miller and Milsap, the Milsap one made the best sense. I actually liked the Hinrich rumor the best. I think Hinrich is Blake on steroids. He would have been perfect in the Roy system of offense and a good defender and rebounder too.

But isn't kirk doing Maybe a tiny bit better than Blake this year? Not that it matters but I didn't really want to re up on Blake and outlaw this summer. We probably could have gotten miller and milsap for that amount or maybe even something better I don't know. Oooh well hindsight is hindsight.

Must be some kind of reverse steroids. Hinrich is one of the few players Blake is playing better than.

    Hinrich PER 7.24 TS% .413
