Say what, Kirk? Did you just diss the fans? I've noticed this too about Hinrich, Salmons and Del Negro. I don't know that the team is out of the woods because it beat a Knicks team that Smith spent the rest of his column laughing at. Also, there's nice stuff about John Salmons off the court. He seems like a very family-oriented guy. Link here
Salmons seems to take his poor start even harder than you guys do, another reason to root for him. I wouldn't swap him for Hinrich though. Hinrich is still only a PG who can guard 2's. He's not the answer and he makes the second team a lot better, so leave him coming off of the bench. And the crowd at the UC is pretty weak lately, although they don't have a lot to cheer for or at least didn't last night. It was like watching your kid trying to learn to ride a bike, you're more relieved at the end that they didn't fall off than excited. I don't think beating the knicks proves much either until they start getting solid contributions from more than 6 guys. Miller brought nothing again, got a tech for whining and Hinrich played 39 minutes. They aren't going to beat Atlanta like that. Tyrus has a rod in his arm, and it's his left arm, right? I'd start him as soon as he's cleared and let Miller back up Noah for 10 minutes a night. At least Tyrus is an energetic bad.
