This is a rehash of prior articles, but where there's smoke there is fire and I wouldn't be surprised to see the Warriors deal him once Biedrins and Turiaf return.
This trade worked on the ESPN Trade Machine Rudy Gay + Zach Randolph for Maggette + Anthony Randolph + Speedy Claxton Warriors get back a young player back who's not happy in Memphis and Zach Randolph's contract enters the final year next season. PG - Ellis SG - Curry SF - Gay PF - Randolph C - Biedrins
The good news is that the Warriors are not "shopping" around Randolph. But like Shapecity said, I don't understand why the Warriors are disappointed in Randolph. He leads the team in rebounds and blocks and averages only 22 minutes per game. For a team whose weakness is rebounding and defense, I don't understand why he is not getting more PT. Are they just mad because he is not someone he is not? Like do they want him to be a bigger 4 or what? I think in general these noises are telling us that there is going to be a good amount of action coming for the team during the trade deadline. Action in this case meaning rumors and perhaps some moves. We can only wait and see though. The thing I am MOST scared about is that the team will make trades for mediocrity. That will be the worst thing to happen. Sure if we can trade Randolph for a star that will stick around, then that's not bad. But if it's Randolph for players like Gay and Zach Randolph then we have a problem. I am thinking of the history of the Cohan owned Warriors and the current GM and I am kind of fearing that a trade for further mediocrity is what we may see.
The Warriors should not be allowed to go to Secaucus if they trade away a promising pick like Randolph. I can understand trading busts because Mullin picked the wrong guy and Nellie refused to develop that guy. All the guys we have drafted in the first round outside of Biedrins have been busts. The seemed like okay-good choices at the time, but Mullin screwed it up and Nelson screwed it up, too.
