PC gaming died when the PS2 came out.

Borderlands was a new series that cropped up this year, and kind of came out of nowhere. It's also a fantastic game to boot.

Counter-Strike: Source has had more game-time that the whole COD series, I would assume.

Yeah, if you were a 12-year-old.

Yes, I agree. It loved it, but that is a rarity in today's market.

CS is one of my all time favorite but they never really advanced, kinda stayed the same year in and year out.

Well, you reach a point of awesomeness where more awesomeness cannot be achieved. Heh.

Also, the main developer of Counter-Strike left Valve and Valve haven't done anything with the game since. They haven't even released a patch for CS:S. I believe they are planning on releasing Counter-Strike: Online which is directed at the Asian market, but I don't know how good it's going to be compared to Source and 1.6.

    Re: Game of the Year

Half-Life 2 is my favourite game ever, but forget Episode 3... it's been so long... they need to bring Half-Life 3 out already.

1 came out in 98. 2 came out in 04. 3 should be out in 10 but it seems we are still a long way away.

This will be the last episode, so hopefully they'll come out with Half-Life: 3 next time around.

Next time around could be four years from now. I'm impatient.

Seems like they're waiting for another big flop in technology but I don't understand why.

Pretty sure the story will revolve around Gordon and Alyx going after the Borealis, starting with a shaky helicopter ride.

Perhaps, or maybe they're planning on releasing two other games with Half-Life much like they did with Counter-Strike: Source and the other Counter-Strike games.

What about Starcraft 2? I used to love playing that back in middle school. Arguably one of the most balanced RTS games ever.

Starcraft is definitely a classic, but I never got in to it.
