Miller and Blake for Darko, Hill and 1st round draft pick.

Would they do that? I would do this trade, only when Mills comes back. Then I would do this for a lineup.

    Bayless\Mills
    Roy\Rudy
    Webster(Batum)\Cunningham(Outlaw)
    LMA\Hill or Pendergraph\Howard
    Joel(Oden)\Darko

Or just cut Darko and let Hill, JP and LMA play backup 4\5 minutes. Darko is a big expiring next year. Then basically we get another chance to play with Millers money in the FA market next year, with a young big body in our front court in case Joel leaves next year. If Joel leaves, that leaves us with a good chunk of FA money too. Darko and Joel are about 14 mil.

I like it. Bayless is ready to start. Mills is good too. Just you wait.

I pretty much disagree with everything you said here: Hill is as raw as steak tartar, Bayless is nowhere near being ready to start, Mills as a rotation player is wishcasting, and Joel is unlikely to leave, given Greg's injury history and the supposition that he actually likes it here.

No offense, but this is not good.

Oh I don't take offense lol

I like the trade. I think Bayless is ready for big minutes, we save money, can sign a good player next year and we get a good draft pick.

No way. The Knicks lost their draft pick this summer to the Jazz. I only want their pick from this season since they will have LeBron after that ;-)

Any trade that would include both Blake and Miller is very risky, even if neither player are playing great. However, once Rudy comes back, there is the possibility of moving Roy to starting PF, Rudy to starting SG, with Bayless backing up Roy and everyone pitching in to BU SG. But there is no way we should consider playing Mills until he proves he is able to play in the NBA.

As Craigehlo mentioned, the Knicks don't even have a first round draft pick to trade this year, and after enduring losing this year's top ten (in all likelihood) pick to Utah, I suspect Donnie Walsh will never trade another future first as long as he's in control.

As for Bayless being ready for "big" minutes, I think he's probably ready for 20-25 a night and now that he's getting them it remains to be seen how often he can "bring it" on a nightly basis now that other team's will have him in their game plan -- likely as not there are still going to be considerable growing pains for young Jerryd as his role expands on this team. Right now I'm perfectly happy with him playing a Vinnie Johnson "Microwave" role off the bench, especially since he's mixing in 2 guard and 1 guard duties depending on who he's in there with.

I think there are probably far better trades out there that don't send off both Miller and Blake and leave us with just Bayless and Mills.

So the Knicks trade their 3rd most valuable player (after Lee and Gallinari) for our two aging struggling PG's, who would have no long-term future in New York and in Miller's case be worth less to them than an expiring contract.

And they have to give us a draft pick.

I bet they'll be calling any minute!

We will be over the cap even if we get rid of Miller.

Isn't this taking away their cap too?

I was a little tipsy last night and did this trade on NBA2K10 lol it did me good, but then again, players on the game do not factor in youth. So Mills was averaging 11 a game and 6 assists lol

Bayless was playing 30 minutes a game and putting up 9 points and 4 assists. I think Mills is going to be better in my franchise then Bayless!

I don't think so. I think they would listen to Miller\Blake for Darkos contract and a rookie they hardly use. Especially when they are possibly losing Nate Robinson. They need a PG. As well a SG, which Blake can play.

They wouldn't because Miller would eat into their cap space. Why give up cap space for Andre Miller?

darko is expiring, they wouldnt trade him for someone good, let alone miller. and then throw in their top prospect? and a #1? they would say very quickly imo.

they wouldnt do miller for darko straight up, guaranteed.

haha right? 8 million in cap space right now would be alot more enticing in a trade than 2 years of andre miller.

Would you give up a first round pick for Miller and Blake?

    I know I sure as hell wouldn't

I don't think you actually understand what the Knicks' goals are for this summer, they want to shed as much salary as they possibly can in anticipation of being able to lure at least one max free agent and possibly a second or a near max free agent. As "good" as Miller might be, money chipped out of their summer cap room would be an utter failure of their plan. And them having to give up a young wing who they think very highly of is just insulting.

The Knicks need lots of things at lots of positions, but more guaranteed salary isn't one of them. If they somehow get Lebron and Bosh, they could round out their roster with D-Leaguers and compete for a playoff spot almost immediately.
