Re: Strikeforce: Evolution (Dec. 19th) Pretty good card, Cung Le vs Scott Smith should be a good one.
Re: Strikeforce: Evolution (Dec. 19th) Scott Smith has become the Strikeforce punching bag. The fight doesn't really have any implications. None of the fights are particularly intriguing, IMHO.
Re: Strikeforce: Evolution (Dec. 19th) wow 3 of the main event fights have obvious winners, well it's obvious that strikeforce wants Souza, Lawler and King Mo to win. Strikeforce's under cards still underwhelm too.
Re: Strikeforce: Evolution (Dec. 19th) Robbie Lawler will not fight this weekend rather than face a last-minute opponent.
Re: Strikeforce: Evolution (Dec. 19th) What does everyone think of Scott Smith's chances against the rusty Le?
Re: Strikeforce: Evolution (Dec. 19th) I dunno, there hasn't been a lot of Cung Le fights to go off of. Does he have a chin? Scott Smith could land a big punch and knock him the fuck out.

So I didn't see one lonely second of this event but I'm going to have to watch the Smith vs. Le fight tomorrow.
Saw the show tonight... Thompson vs. Melendez was fantastic, FOTY candidate for certain... Le vs. Smith was very dramatic but Le had the fight won in the first, wasted it, and then gassed. If he'd sacrificed style for substance he easily could've won but he wanted to win in spectacular fashion.
Scott Smith: $55,000 (no win bonus) def. Cung Le via: $150,000 Gilbert Melendez: $55,000 (no win bonus) def. Josh Thomson: $30,000 Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza: $65,000 (includes $10,000 win bonus) def. Matt Lindland: $50,000 Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal: $20,000 ($10,000 win bonus) def. Mike Whitehead: $30,000 Antwain Britt: $10,000 ($5,000 win bonus) def. I hope that is a typo. In related news King Mo was fined 10% of his purse for going overboard splashing Rockstar all over the cage following his win.
$200 is the correct number. Rumour has it that Nakamura is under contract with M-1 and got some kind of undisclosed payday for the bout.
These M-1 guys are gonna eventually get in trouble with the IRS if they keep doing this under the table shit.
