Whatever happened to spirit of the law !? I was 1 point away from an A in my social problems class. I got 539 points. An A was 540. I'm so angry because I did all the extra credit, Aced the final (95%), did every assignment, and all this was after bombing the first exam (40%). :[ I fail. :[
Did you argue with your teacher? I did that in college once, it didn't really help but the teacher remembered me for standing up like that. Even stood up from his seat and gave me a high-5 when I got my diploma. and now he's dead.
I sent her an e-mail asking if there was anyhting I could do for one extra point. She said no. I said die ****. but I was too pussy to send it.
Go watch Glengarry Glen Ross tonight (or at least the Youtube of Alec Baldwin's speech), then go talk to her in the AM (IN PERSON, not email, phone, twitter, etc). everything's always negotiable.
School is 40 miles away. The B doesn't hurt my GPA enough for me to do that. Just venting. Thanks for the advice though :] I shall rep you.
no. it kind of sucks that he's dead but just puts things into perspective. in the whole scheme of life, this doesn't mean all that much. so fuck it, just go in there and try to talk your way up. its certainly better than lying down and taking it.
yeah, i tend to write like that. the guy went through a bunch of shit actually....they found child porn on his computer but it was from thesis or research project he was doing in the 70s. http://www.laloyolan.com/news/br-smulders-is-back-in-action-1.400433
You *emailed* your teacher instead of talking to them in person? LOL I had an issue in college where formed groups to do an assignment... but turned in the assignment indiivdually. Somone in my group got an A and I got a C. I looked at her paper and we had the same answers (or equivalent). In one case it was some math about cell phone billing and my answer broken down to cost per second... and her's was per minute... but the values were equiv... she got it right and I got it wrong. They were all things like that. I was pissed so I set up a meeting with the teacher. First thing they did was throw away the copy of the other students paper saying it was private. I didn't get far from there and I didn't get my grade changed. What made me most mad is that I did basically all the work for the other student. Wasn't the first or last time I realized life isn't always fair.
I think in order to make grading fair... the grader should not know whose paper they are grading at the time. Now... I know a lot of papers are graded by assistents... but I have definitely seen cases were reputation weighed heavily in the grade.
So you didn't get enough points to get an "A", and you failed one of the very few exams in the course? And for some reason your are pissed at the teacher? What a bunch of useless bitching. Pretty much inline with the sense of entitlement in this country, and the idea of many that things should just be given to them.
