    Two things:

    1) I hit the link and it unleashed a torrent of pop-ups on my work computer. :tsktsk:

    2) While you get an "A" for effort, economics isn't stimulating reading for me. I think I'll stick with my Smithsonian.

    But thanks anyway!

I didn't get the pop ups when I clicked on the link. Don't you have a pop up blocker on your work computer?

The Economist is so much more than articles on economics and finance. It also has some of the best political coverage around. It's not US focused, so it offers a broad perspective. The arts and culture section is amazing. And then the obituaries are legendary in their dry wit (Imelda Marcos' was one of the funniest pieces I've ever read).

I've subscribed since I was a grad student. My wife used to mock me for it, then she started reading the copies that were around the house. Now, she can't live without it.

    Give it a shot. It's only $12.

I am intrigued... but how is this going to help me? I will understand the economy more, understand why it is fucked up more, then I will have more shit to make my day suck lol

Oh and no popups when I clicked the link. Not one.

If someone else gets the Economist, can they chime in as to what they think?

Check out their website www.economist.com and you'll see it's more than a financial/economic publication.

I liked the Economist when I was borrowing it in college.

I'd really like to do this deal, but it doesn't look set up for Kindle. I'll check if the same deal applies at home.

Financial Times is also one I'd get if I read the paper more.

Firefox had a lot of popups come up as well.
