This kid. Wow!!! I am sorry for multiple threads. I have had a couple beers and I just watched that interview with Bayless at the end of the game. That kid has got me hooked. I am a dead on Bayless fan from here on out!!!!!! He is my style, he is my swagger, he is the freakin man!!!!!!! I wish him the best. Damn. Big props to Bayless. I am a HUGE Bayless fan now. Bigger than ever before.
I know its early but shouldn't he be the front runner for Most Improved Player? Or should the NBA create a new award for this kid...Most Oppressed Player?
I predicted at the start of the season that he would be the starting PG by years end, and everyone laughed. Well, it came about in an unconventional way, and he may not remain a starter, but I have been a fan of his since day one, and it's a blast to see him kicking ass.
Does anyone care that Bayless was the 2-guard tonight? That he was almost always (iirc) in with either Miller or Blake (or both) at the PG? Not saying I don't like the kid at PG, but did anyone wonder about that?
The guy ran the team. Forget the fact that he led the team in assists. The ball was IN HIS HANDS in the most crucial minutes. When they needed a bucket, in the 4th quarter. He was like Roy tonight, being able to play off the ball, but also handle it in the moment. Dude was spectacular.
Two guard? In what way? the ball was in his hands 90% of the time he was in the game and he was the one setting guys up to score. Miller and Blake certainly took over for plays, but this was the J-Bay show tonight.
Bayless is scoring guard with distributing skills. Labels like "point guard" and "shooting guard" largely boil down to individual conceptions of the roles. Much more useful to describe what he does...which is attack the defense and pass the ball. He could be a scoring point guard, or he could be a distributing off-guard. That makes him a nice fit next to a lot of different types of guards, including Roy.
Bayless was an absolute beast tonight. Wonderful 31 along with 7 assists and my favorite stat ZERO turnovers. Well a silver lining to this season anyways!
