Yes sorry--obviously this won't happen but it does seem to make sense for both team.

Am I a homer for not wanting to do that?

I love Bayless. He's been my favorite Blazer since the day we traded for him.

Nobody's pimped Bayless as much as I have.

But, there' no way he and Outlaw together are worth Rose.

At least the writer took the time to go to the NBA trade generator to see if it fits before he suggested it. People shouldn't suggest trades without going there first.

to this point rose has shown no sign that he will ever be a 3P threat, great paul/deron-type distributor, or anything particularly special on defense, and to this point bayless has been a much more efficient scorer this year.

in what way would rose be an upgrade?

For crying out loud we're talking about Derrick Freeking Rose! #1 pick Derrick Rose. ROY Derrick Rose. You don't trade guys like that unless you're getting one back. Bayless has had a couple of really good games, but let's not lose our heads here. As much as I love JB, I'd do this trade as fast as I could before the Bulls snapped out of the stooper they would have to be in to consider going through with this.

I'm not worried about Roy & Rose playing together. Well, it's never going to happen anyway . . .

Not only do the Bulls hang up, they decide to never answer calls from KP again.

Let's pretend this could happen and wait until the trade deadline... If Bayless has more than "a few good games" after that, I'd like to discuss this again. Take a look at this comparison between Bayless this year, Rose's ROY year and Roy's ROY year:

    http://www.basketball-reference.com...1=2010&p2=rosede01&y2=2009&p3=roybr01&y3=2007

Look at the advanced stats, esp PER, EFG% and TS%. Look at ORtg and DRtg. Bayless is doing great things so far this season, enough to give homers some justification. I'd like to revisit this chart in February on trade deadline day.

Hmmm ... I think you have to account for role and situation somewhat, but those numbers are a bit surprising. I wouldn't have thought Rose was putting up such pedestrian stats ... especially this year where it appears he hasn't really progressed.

Damn man, can we even give a guy a chance to show his stuff before he is trade bait? Some people have no patience.

You guys obviously didn't read the article. He clearly says this would never happen BUT it does make sense for both teams. Bayless and Outlaw fill roles for the Bulls and the Blazers get their PG. Man some people have their panties in a bunch.
