I feel really happy for Bayless he deserved this win after his performance and first start ever. His determination and intensity really shows and I love it (and love when he acts cocky at times as well, though don't want it to go to overboard). I don't really know what all your opinions are on this kid as far as future starter goes, but I really think a backcourt of Bayless/Roy would be amazing. Yes, not a "pure PG," but Roy covers that and Bayless can do well playing away from the ball as well as with it in his hands. Now just get a healthy Batum and even more important a healthy Oden and the starting 5 looks deadly assuming all can stay healthy.
I wonder what Rudy is thinking. Rudy waits on the bench a whole season, sacrificing millions he could have made in Europe, to get his chance when Roy is injured. When a vacuum finally opens, Rudy is already injured, too. So the PG Bayless fills Rudy's big opportunity at SG.
I think Rudy is probably thinking his time here might be ending. Bayless seems to be the better options and seems to mesh better with Roy as well. Not to knock Rudy down, but I don't believe he could have done what Bayless did last night with those 42 or so minutes because his handles are just not that great and he doesn't ever attack the basket much. I mean, if he was hot from 3 and was taking and making a lot then he could have done well, but Bayless showed a balanced game and in doing so, put on the number 7 jersey because that is basically who he was last night
Thanks for posting that. Funny! Also I didn't know that Bayless was only the 4th player in the last four years to score 30+ in their first start.
