    The fact that you have to say that as its something that has to be said scares me.

    "Talked to a Muslim friend of mine today. Didnt get any intel out of him but he wants to go to the movies later today" :sigh:

    I don't know how many skinheads there are in the world.........I can't stand them. They are as sick as the rest of the violent movements. They are waiting for a chance to perform a hate crime. I apologize if I have offended your ethnicity. Personally I think we all end up in the same place eventually anyway.

    Its just an internet board so whatever...but Im trying to show you the other side.

    Skinheads have marches/protests and are protected by the police yet are known for committing violent acts. Is there at least one murderer if 500+ gather together...id bet so.

    Im not condoning what either of these groups do...im just saying there is a double standard when how they are treated.

    Lets equate it to these boards....

    IF....

    Mixum = Insane Blazer Fan

    THEN..

    GrandpaBlaze= Blazer Fan

    ....does GrandpaBlaze have to apologize for MIXUM and do everything in his power to make him stop posting? :lol:

    DaRizzle I know what you are trying to do and you are correct in what you have said. It brought to mind the story of the village in Afghanistan that wouldn't turn over a wounded special forces soldier to the Taliban as it would go against their beliefs. They risked death to defend him. That is very noble, and does show a side of Islam that I would like to see more of.........in all religions actually. Killing of innocents is just bullshit no matter who is doing it.

    Papa G gets to do what he wants and MIXUM gets to do what he wants and as long as it isn't hurting more than feelings I don't care. MIXUM I actually agreed with once when he said he liked Przybilla.

    Yeah, I know. But the teachings usually talked about in reference to an old tax code. Either way, that's what fundamentalists and who they are: they have a distorted view of the religious teachings. Something like the People of the Book sections of the Qur'an would be ignored.

    The fact is that the vast majority of Muslims AND Muslim governments do not support terrorism. The only (official) government I can think of that could be suspected of direct terrorist support is Iran. Saudi Arabia is often blamed for supporting terrorism, too, but they don't have an official policy. They support their mosques and some of those mosques support terrorism.

    That, to me, isn't a good enough reason to suspect a billion people of supporting terrorism and being violent. There is also a widespread distrust of government in the Arab world. Iran and Saudi Arabia are no exceptions.

    Definitely. The positive things done by Muslim groups in America and all over the world aren't exactly action-news/pundit/bloggable material. This kind of thing doesn't get talked about at a national level. The news media is, I think, one of the main reasons that Islam is portrayed in the light that it is. Even a cursory reading of a select few Wikipedia articles will tell you more about Muslims and the Middle East than watching the evening news for a year will.

    oh, right.

    I meant to say: The teachings are usually talked about in reference to an old tax code.

    Meaning, that the "people of the book" status is known mostly because it implied dhimmi status, which, up until the fall of the Ottoman Empire, was for tax purposes.

    Today, the only time I heard the phrase "people of the book" is when Muslims are talking about how they don't hate Christians or Jews because they are "people of the book."
