Obviously made by the local atheist group:

Santa Clause and Jesus Christ, one in the same.

I think Jesus would hate Christmas in the United States, but love the idea of Santa Clause.

Is Santa Clause the Santa brother who became a lawyer?

Not really, though. There is little doubt that a man named Jesus once lived on the Earth. What is debatable, obviously, is whether or not he was the son of God.

"Santa Claus and God, one in the same", would have made the atheists look less stupid. They need to try harder next time.

And if the sign said Jesus of Nazareth instead of Jesus Christ, your criticism would look less stupid. Unless you believe Christ to be his last name. You need to try harder next time.

There was a man named Jesus. He called himself the son of God and claimed to be the son of God. Whether he was or not is up for debate, but there was a man who believed he literally was God's son. As far as I can tell, there has never been a fat man with a beard who flies reindeer on Xmas Eve, after spending all year at the North Pole working with elves, making a list, and checking it twice.

So, your criticism of my criticism is stupid. Try harder next time.

I was under the impression that there was some kind of historical basis for Santa as well. A toy maker who would put small toys and trinkets in children's shoes on the evening before Christmas. I might be wrong. I never really looked into it.

So I would say the atheist's sign is actually fairly accurate, in that we have two individuals who were real people, whose stories and lives have since been embelished and fabricated to fit a purpose. So, again, try harder next time.

It's not completely accurate, as would be comparing Santa Claus (the guy on the sled, not some guy from the 14th century who never claimed to be magical or fly in a sled) to God, at least in terms of what an atheist believes.

So, again, try harder next time. You're reaching to criticize me, and even you admit that the comparison isn't 100% accurate.

Did the toymaker live at the North Pole and use elves as slaves to build toys? :dunno:

Was the son of god born a virgin birth, walk on water, heal lepers, etc.? No. Like I said. Both real people with made up stories about them. Accurate comparison.

Saying "one and the same" instead of "one in the same" would have made them look less stupid also.

I don't think we know what he believed, only what other people claim he believed. I don't think you can ever know what someone believes (unless that someone is you).
