My gf got me a sub and a amp for Christmas, I hooked everything up... the amp is powered up(ground good, power straight to battery), its hooked in to the deck via rca cords(and yes all of the cords are connected to the right spots, checked multiple times). But I cant get any sound out of my sub.... the sub works I hooked it up to my house system and worked fine... should I take the amp back? my gf got the warranty on it so there shouldn't be a problem but she got it at fry's and I don't really want to drive down there... Anyone know if this is a fixable thing or should I just take it back?
Did you hook up the amp to the sub? check if the connectors inside the sub box are still intact well, sometimes they may fall loose. but since it works at home, that should be ok I guess. did you adjust the gains on the amp? play around with that.
FWIW....awhile back, I had purchased a Dual XHD6425 because of its HD feature, as well as being USB compatible (I burn MP3's to a flash drive to be played on this device.). One other feature it has, that I'm now thankful for, is its blue tooth compatibility....especially since the Oregon law will be changing on Jan 1st. Today, I purchased the BTM60 module. It'll be great having a hands-free phone via my radio, as opposed to some blue tooth device dangling from my ear.
Read the Amp directions and make sure there inst any band pass filters and how to bridge. They aren't always that simple to get going. Also house speakers take very little power to push compared to a sub. Whats the rca out on the stereos filters set at.
