Yet more satisfaction of another thread where people mocked me and were wrong. It really never does get old.

As we all know, Pritchard referred to Bayless as "Jarrett Jack on steroids". I think he's just straight up Jarrett Jack.

I was just thinking the same thing - i.e. Vinnie Johnson!

Bayless is an "impact" 2G without the size to be a starter at the 2. Also similar to Nate Robinson in this vein.

Pretty interesting link. If you expand the parameter to include the last entire decade, it only adds Damon (twice) and Van Exel (once), with only 11 total games.

Kind of surprised me how rare it has been for our team to have a player go for 30 and 7 assists. And it didn't happen once from 1999 to 2004. :O

Poor Jack. As much as I wanted him gone, the dude was all class. I have to tell you a story when I took my son to a Blazer game.

About 2 years ago, I bought three tickets to a courtside game against L.A. Lakers. We live in the Los Angeles area, so watching the Blazers is hard a the staples center. Anyways, we were on the court and my son had his "all star" Roy Jersey and brand new Roy sneaks. He was too embarrassed to ask for autographs, and him and I were kinda talking loudly. I was telling Chris (my son) hey you gotta man up and ask, they don't want some freaky "old guy" asking for autographs! Anyways, Jack overheard it and grabbed my son. He put his arm around his shoulder and walked him to center court. My son was like a deer in headlights. Anyways, Jack asked to sign the back of his Jersey and then told Roy he better sign Chris's Jersey cause he has better shoes than Roy.

So from that point on, I never ever want ill will towards Jack. He made my son love the Blazers, and especially Jack.

Call me crazy, but I don't think he steps on the baseline or dribbles off of his foot enough to be Jarret Jack.

Unless we can find a stat detailing momentum killing turnovers/missed shots it would appear they are pretty close.

But that non-existant stat would weigh heavily in Bayless's favor.

I haven't seen a Blazer player more capable of sucking the energy out of a team like Jack did. His dribble off the back of his foot directly into LeBron's hands has to be one of the most horrific turnovers in Blazer history.

It really got so bad that I could predict when Jerret would make a game loosing mistake. I only had to wait until Portland made a comeback and got within 4 or so. Then Jarret would get the ball, put his head down and do something absurdly bad.

Until Bayless's end of game miscues cost Portland multiple games I would have to believe there really isn't much of a comparison.

Bayless > Jack and I don't think it is even close.

I am a JJack fan. I thought we would have done much better if we could ship Sergio instead of him. But, Bayless is faster, a more explosive scorer and has the tools to be a better defender.

I loved what Jarret did for us, I think he got the short end of the stick from the "Free Sergio" brigade, but Bayless is an upgrade. Simple as that.
