What do you guys think? I say we send them Salmons and Miller for Tmac. Miller gives them a bigman in yao's absence and Salmons as a replacement 2 guard. I know some might disagree with doing this but we're desperate and struggling and if Tmac can do nothing else he can come off our books at the end of the year.

No way would the Bulls do it, though. It'd bring in $4M more in expiring contract than they're sending out in stupid signing contract.

    Luxury tax.

We could send Jerome James as part of the deal, but then we'd need to sign someone to get back to 12 man roster. Too bad we bought out Tim Thomas, or he could be sent to Houston to keep us under the LT threshold.

Isn't that another brilliant move, buying Thomas out? Saved the owner $1M or whatever, when we have 3 open roster spots and the expiring contract that was wiped out has trade value.

Salmons and Miller for Tmac works too, and it doesnt drop our wins down by as much

    Chicago: -2 Wins
    Houston: +1

Miller is a $12M expiring deal. We'd gain $5M in salary with your proposal - over the threshold. With mine, we'd gain $16M+ in net expiring contracts and stay under the LT. That is, sending Jerome James to keep us under. Throw in James in your deal and our net expiring contracts is $6M.

Enough this summer to sign LeBron and Wade.

Or more likely, 5 or 6 Ron Mercer types.
