With everyone on the team healthy, who would you want as the starters? I'd have: Curry Ellis Randolph or Morrow Wright Biedrins
Curry Ellis Bell Randolph Biedrins Main bench: Azubuike, Maggette, Morrow, Radmanovic, Wright, Watson Don't like Morrow, RadMan, or Maggette as starters, I think they're better off the bench. Don't like AR at the 3 (or 5). Although if everyone on this team were healthy, I'd make some trades to consolidate talent.
I liked the starting lineup from last night. Ellis/Curry/Maggette/Randolph/Biedrins Maybe when Bell is healthy, he should start. I am not sure though. I haven't seen him play enough.
Yeah, exactly what I was thinking. Randolph isn't ready to be a SF. I really like Bell, but won't he be gone next year anyway? If he does leave, then it would be Azu in his place.
This is hard to say. I would love to see a lineup of: pg: Monta Ellis sg: Anthony Morrow or Raja Bell sf: Anthony Randolph pf: Brandon Wright c: Andris Biedrins but I would worry that we don't have enough consistent, outside shooters to space the floor and we'd wind up in a lot of foul trouble against smaller teams in halfcourt defense situations. Plus, In order for Monta to attack effectively, the other 4 guys need to space the floor and draw away their defenders from where the play will be. I don't see our wing doing too much of the deep shots that Sjax would do. Plus our pf Wright would have a streaky jump shot if he's the guy that is open. Plus, the knock on Randolph is that he doesn't remember set plays very well making him a washout on a football team because you HAVE to know the playbook. The advantage of having the extra size is we can get more rebounds and crash the offensive glass because our 6'10 guys are incredibly quick on their feet, cover a lot of ground, and are extremely long. I also find it useful that both Wright and Randolph have inside scoring ability in the post and they are decent passers, shotblockers, and foul shooters. It's something we don't have with Turiaf and Biedrins who are both offensively raw and will opt to pass more than take it inside and might have trouble shooting free throws. If we go isolation, the ball would be in Monta Ellis' hands or in either Wright/Randolph in the post. The idea is that we want to force double teams in halfcourt tempo and to get rid of the ball quickly when that happens. We swing it to the open 3point/midrange shooter or the tall center cutting to the rim. We make a concerted effort to crash the offensive glass to follow up on missed shots if teams forget to box out on us. If teams crowd the paint and dare Ellis or Randolph to shoot, we use our bigs to try to create space for a long two somewhere within the arc. There should be plays we can make if defenders go over or under screens. Hopefully, there would be plenty of interesting two man game possessions involving Wright/Randolph and Ellis/Biedrins and Ellis/Morrow and Biedrins/Randolph I would like our bench of Watson/Curry/Maggette/Turiaf/ and the 10th guy whoever that is. Maybe it should go down like this: 2nd unit: Curry/Bell/Maggette/Radmo/Turiaf
