Should we pay more attention to...

Should we pay more attention to Darfur? Some of you guys won't know what this is so I will tell you. It is a conflict in Sudan. Arab-Muslims and the Sudanese government are commiting mass genocide on African-Muslims. President Bush is just brushing Darfur off to the side even though it has been going on since 2003 I think 250,000 people. I am currently doing a big project on this and I was wondering what everybodies opinion on it was. So should we pay more attention to Darfur?

 

Yes, after we deal with Congo. Apparently Africa doesn't matter anymore though so I don't see military aid happening.

 

It pisses me off how we go to Iraq with no proof or anything when in Darfur people are being raped, slaughtered, burned and/or buried alive, etc.

 

Yes, that's exactly how I feel about the situation in Congo.

 

Unless there is oil there, I doubt Bush wants any part of it.And yes, I believe we should help.

 

I'm sick of the US being the world's babysitter.

 

Well if we're going to "help" places like Iraq then we should be aiding these areas also.

 

Well I don't feel we should be overseas anywhere.

 

I do, just not in Iraq.

 

Tough situation. I agree what DRob said. America always seems to have to but into everyones issues. America cant help it that Darfur is a corrupt country. Idk, dont judge on what I just put, I have not idea what US should do with this
