Redd scored 15 of his playoff career-high 40 points in the third quarter and Mo Williams added 20 off the bench as the Bucks notched their first win in three tries in the Eastern Conference opening-round series, 124-104 over the Pistons. Reserve Joe Smith scored 13 points and T.J. Ford handed out career-best 15 assists for the Bucks, who shot 60 percent (47-of-78) overall and made 11-of-17 from the arc. "Now we've got a series, we're going to have to regroup and come back and play a team with some confidence," Pistons coach Flip Saunders added. A 6-6 guard, Redd frustrated Detroit's defense throughout. He shot 14-of-21 from the floor, including 4-of-5 3-pointers, and also grabbed five rebounds. "We did a good job penetrating, making the extra pass and pushing the ball at them," Redd said. "That's the kind of game that you dream about as a kid." After suffering back-to-back double-figure losses at Detroit in the first two games of the series, Milwaukee put together an early lead and never looked back. "We played together and did a good job of not letting them lock in," said Ford, who scored seven points. "It doesn't mean anything if I don't come out and put the same pressure on them on Monday." The Bucks held a seven-point edge at intermission before pulling away for good as Redd hit two 3-pointers during a commanding 23-6 burst through the first eight minutes of the period, helping build an 84-60 bulge. The Pistons allowed the most points since giving up 120 to Washington in the regular season on Nov. 25. "When you have a team that can shoot the ball well, they have the ability to get on a roll," Saunders said. "We just never got into playing our style of ball." Chauncey Billups, who scored 26 points, made two free throws to cut the deficit to 94-79 with 10 1/2 minutes remaining in the game. However, Redd responded by scoring Milwaukee's next three baskets, keeping the Pistons at bay. Detroit received little support from Richard Hamilton, who was called for a technical and flagrant foul in the second half. "I got hit like that in the first half and it wasn't even a foul," said Hamilton, who scored 10 points. "No way that was a flagrant and if you asked Mike (Redd), he'd tell you that it wasn't a flagrant foul." Rasheed Wallace scored 18 points and Lindsey Hunter added 14 off the bench for Detroit, which shot 48 percent (34-of-70) and was outscored, 48-20, in the paint. Game 4 will be a different story. Ben will grab 15+ boards and Rip will have 20+ points, I might have called this a sweep a couple times but I thought Micheal Redd was good enough for 1 win. Only one.
