<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>NBA fines Shaq for ref commentsBy Chris PerkinsPalm Beach Post Staff WriterSunday, April 30, 2006CHICAGO ? Heat center Shaquille O'Neal was fined $25,000 Saturday for his post-game comments about a referee after Game 3. And still the Heat won't stop griping about officiating.Forward James Posey, suspended for today's Game 4 in Chicago because he delivered a late-game, football-style shoulder block on Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich in Game 3, still maintains his offense wasn't that serious. In Posey's support, center Alonzo Mourning said Los Angeles Lakers forward Luke Walton should receive a similar one-game suspension for his hit on Phoenix's Tim Thomas on Friday. Mourning addressed his thoughts to Stu Jackson, the NBA's senior vice president of basketball operations."If (Walton) doesn't get a game suspension then there is double standard, OK?" Mourning said. "And you can tell Stu Jackson I said that."O'Neal, who didn't speak with reporters Saturday, was fined $15,000 in April for post-game comments about referees after a loss in New Jersey. After Thursday's 109-90 loss at Chicago, O'Neal, who played 24 minutes because of foul trouble, said of referee Bob Delaney, "I knew when I saw Bob Delaney I was going to be in trouble anyway."If you're keeping count, in the first three games of this series, Miami has two suspensions, two technical fouls and one hefty fine.Mourning also said the league is too heavy-handed on everything from regular fouls and technical fouls to fines and suspensions."I'm from the old school," Mourning said. "I remember how playoff basketball used to be played, and I see how it's being played now and it's light years difference."League rules prohibit Posey from attending today's game, but he understands the gravity of the situation. Asked where he'll watch the contest, he replied, "I'm going to have front-row seats, the best seat in the house ? at my hotel, unfortunately."</div>
This may be old, but I want it known that he was right to do this since horrendous officiating has robbed some teams of victories.
Cmon guys put something into your posts. Not just a couple words. And Thanks Sham and Zards for actually making it so it isn't meaningless.
