me too.. a loss by a team is a victory for you, regardless of your favorite team... sad. Are you a Beaver fan or a Duck hater?
I try what I can.. Trash talk is weak IMO. And people who "cant" cheer for another team for conference.. thats fine by me. I just find it pathetic when another teams loss is a victory for them. Not you.. I havent ever seen you or most fans on here do that. One thing is for sure though, the Pac 10 needs to re-group and do better next bowl season. I'm sure we can all agree on that.
I always end up saying this when I'm explaining things, but I'm 17, almost everyone I know is a douche bag lol. But I know what you're saying.. I may know 1 or 2 Duck fans that aren't completely unbearable. Honestly, it was too hard for me to cheer for the Ducks after the embarrassment that was the MAACO Bowl, so I was content when Ohio State won, but I didn't see it as a victory for me. It just kinda eased the blow of the Beavers losing so badly.. The Pac-10 has been downright embarrassing this bowl season though, I hope it doesn't lead to everyone disrespecting it next year.
I can understand easing the blow part.. but to downright treat it like you won the Rose Bowl would be what annoys me lol. I dont think it will be disrespected though next year... The teams will be even better win more maturity. This conference will be even deeper next year.
Oh yes a 9 point loss in a seesaw game that wasn't over until late 4th quarter clearly = domination. Those categories are such awesome indicators of the game too...I mean just look at the MAACO Bowl: 17-18 first downs, 305-308 total yards!!! Thus it must've been a REALLY close game, right?!?!
Yeah that annoys me too, even if they are fellow Beaver fans. Next year should be interesting, to say the least.
It must suck to be irrelevant. It's ok, you can take your frustrations out on us. Was a pretty good season, but this program is at a level where we should be in the BCS conversation every year. Can't wait til next year. Only losing 3 starters. Go Ducks! P.S. -- It feels good to be hated. Similar with the Blazers... they start caring when you shine. Huge national exposure this year, should only improve as well. Not even really worried about that anymore. Hell, I saw "Oregon Ducks" on the top 10 daily searches for Yahoo like 5 or 6 times this year (obviously much more if you count "Rose Bowl" and stuff like that... even "LaGarrett Blount" LMAO -- he was on there twice, once after the sucker punch, once after his re-instatement I believe)... Edit - Wasn't TLong the one that said... "No. We want to throw the last stone. Really"... and I responded, "Yes, just like last year?" Of course, it happened just like last year. Now here he is, laughing at the ducks for losing a Rose Bowl and making excuses why the Beavers lost their bowl game.
I'm a Beaver fan. And to be honest I actually rooted for the Ducks in the Rose Bowl. Of course I wasn't too sad when they lost though.
Well said.. although I wouldnt say the School they support or their football program is irrelevant. Just a few fans who look pathetic
Two things... 1) Chip Kelley fucked up by going for a field goal instead of going for it on 4th and 1. It was a pussy move right out of the Mike Bellotti handbook. 2) The Ducks will never win anything with Masoli as their QB. The guy can't throw to save his life. You could see it against Ohio State. Every time they were in a third and long situation, he was thinking "I'M FUCKED!" He can't throw and the Ducks should never have tried to go to an option offense. This team has historically been a west coast offense and they shouldn't have gone away from that for an Eric Crouch wannabe.
you are just as bi-polar as Kingspeed sometimes. Why is it so hard to give a tip of the cap to a good team?
he throws a pretty decent deep ball.. but there is absolutely no touch on his short to medium passes.
Agreed, Masoli's passing is inconsistent at best. His accuracy is off and on, he tends to rush his throws, and he can get rattled a bit. But every once in awhile Masoli will throw a beautiful, perfect pass (the 80 yard pass to Maehl in the CW comes to mind). I'm sure the Ducks' coaching staff will work with him during the off-season with this, and hopefully he'll show some improvement here next season. On a side note, how 'bout that Ducks basketball team! Way to take out the Fuskies!!! 2-0 to start Pac-10 play, both wins on the road..
Bi-Polar would mean that I swing back and forth. I've pretty much been saying that I think Masoli sucks from day one of this season.
I meant more with the Ducks. But also you said the Ducks wont win with Masoli... ummm yeah... you do realize they won the Pac 10 Championship with him right? and back to back 10-3 seasons with him. I know he didnt play in all of them but I wonder what his record as a starter is (including the BSU game last year where he got hurt) I'm not saying Masoli is the next coming of Dixon but come on the dude isnt Brady Leaf. And dude what more does Chip have to do? "Historically this is a west coast offense" well historically this is a pretty bad football program, but that doesnt mean crap. Up to #2 in the nation one year with the Spread. A top 10 finish the next. A conference championship and a BCS game berth the year after that. The loss sucked yeah, but for Pete's sake have some god damm perspective.
Interesting to see Pryor run the ball so well against the Ducks. I didn't expect that. It was something the ducks haven't had to really defend against all season. Ducks didn't embarrass themselves that is for sure. However, there is a little part of me that was happy to see Blount fumble the ball in a key situation.
